Originally the case had countersunk holes so the screws would be flush....but countersunk holes added to the case cost by $40. So I nixed that to save money. And where I save money, you all save money lol

Well, before I plug it in simple continuity checks with multimeter (I do these as I go for my own sake even though I triple check the wiring visually everytime). Then plugging it in, testing the 12v trigger on/off, and testing each channel. I have a simple 3.5mm to XLR cable that I'll use to play stereo music from my laptop and check each channel on two bookshelf speakers.

More pictures. XLR wiring done. The Ghent Audio connectors really make things clean and easy (I was able to buy the J4 and J6 connector housings and crimps in bulk from him directly).

The $40 more would be if I did a large bulk order, but then there is also an extra fee for setup fee to do it. It's a great company, but adding even one small thing that requires "extra" work carries a premium. For instance, the original plan was to have one large cutout on the top covered in mesh metal as that would have been cheaper than all the small slot cutouts. But when the cost of doing four simple tack welds was incorporated it skyrocketed the price.

The screws can at least be changed if it helps the look for some. I believe they are simple #6 screws (can confirm) so if someone wanted to change them out for hex heads or something better looking, it would be easy.

Did you test continuity between the XLR pin 1 and ground?

Pretty sure the machine screws you used for the XLRs are non-conductive.

For that matter, how are the other back (and other) panels grounded?

I checked. Even at the furthest XLR there is continuity. The XLR chassis themselves are metallic and ground to the panel even without screws. That's also how they have the quick connect right below pin 1 built into the XLR.
