Not with 8-ohm loads. As with all bridged amplifiers, the effective impedance of the load for each amp of the pair is cut in half. Hypex recommends avoiding 2-ohm loads, and frankly I would also avoid 4-ohm loads depending on how low and how widely the impedance curve dips. The driver you showed doesn't get below about 6 ohms and it is nominally 8 ohms and even then not at the frequencies you intend to use--no problem at all. 4-ohm speakers will work but will not deliver quite double the power of each separate channel. 8-ohm loads actually deliver more than double the power of the separate channels, probably because it's a better balance between the voltage and current requirements relative to what the amp can deliver.
My Revel F12's are nominally 6 ohms, with a couple of frequency bands that drop lower. They would be okay for the bridged amp, but I didn't bridge mine. The amp can already deliver just about everything those speakers can accept without damage.
Back in 2016, I documented the rise of class-D amps using the early TriPath technology. Used in the Bel Canto eVo 200.2, TriPath cracked open the door to the High End but was never admitted due to a dim and opaque treble. The second wave was based on B&O's ICEpower technology, again via a Bel...
This is a review and detailed measurements of the Buckeye Purifi 1ET9040BA (second generation?) monoblock amplifier. It was kindly drop shipped by a company and costs US $1,295. A single LED adorns the front indicating power on, protection or fault condition. Back panel has all that one would...
