Just announced the E50 speakers from Buchardt Audio: "pre-order campaign will be announced, with an exclusive price of €3,950 /pair."

Made from solid wood with the tweeter waveguide carved into it. Purifi woofer but apparently PRs from another brand on the back?

The finger joints on the sides are not to my liking to be honest. But the carved waveguide is very cool. Overall I like my Sointuva AWG better. :)

Well, finger joints (aka box joints) are very strong and represent a principle of mechanical joinery in lieu of fasteners, which I personally love.

The black ones have no finger joints on the sides, interesting. Maybe they use veneer?

If only that grille sat flush with the cabinet, they'd have a killer looking bookshelf.
Hah yeah there IS some resemblance to a car audio grille stuck on top. The whole wood look is very cool though, I like how it is different. I could go for a Purifi based thing like that, but shallower and taller to fit next to a big TV I have...the big trick is finding someone to make the cabinets! And the miserably low sensitivity of the Purifi woofers so far.

to me, the last two pictures look like mock-ups. the edges of the speaker are sharp and the depth of field seems unnatural.

when i saw the E50, first when it was announced, i didnt really dig the looks. somehow, i really like it now.

Can’t deal with the finger joints. Looks like a €3800 drawer to me. Plus, although I like Purifi their driver isn’t a real beauty …

How many decades ahead of their era were the Technics SB-F3 when they chose this design!...

Would like to see ASR-level review measurements of those, and other efforts by Japanese brands during the late 70's and 80's...

Peace.

100% real photos.

Why would they add specs of dust to a mock-up?

the last two photos clearly look different than the previous photos of the speaker – look at the sharp edges/corners.
could be, that those finishes are not completely done yet, so they did a mock-up to show the "full" range.

if they are real, then the different finishes would also result in different cabinet shapes.

on the buchardt website it says that they will be available for pre-order on friday.
