Buchardt Audio SUB10

How is the musicality (speed?) of SUB10 compared to REL T9x ?

@Thorbjorn- Like you said, these measurements are are hard to find for most subs. Here are two (including your 10D) that show good distortion at low to mid output levels, it would be nice to have this for more subs:

I guess what you're saying is that a lot of people make the assumption that a subwoofer with high output implies if you have more headroom to run it at low distortion levels, but you'd rather have good knowledge of the output level at which the subwoofer hits an unacceptable distortion threshold.

I just picked up a Sub 10 to pair with my A10s and Platin hub. I'm a bit confused about the wireless setup, and am hoping someone here might be able to share their experiences.

Am I right in thinking I should:

1. WISA pair the Sub with the Platin Hub
2. Set *only* the sub distance in the app (no low pass, no room eq)
3. Room eq the Platin hub only

If that's correct, what about the back of the sub? I assume I won't need to then touch the phase control, as the app should take care of it? But what about the volume control? Seems like that still affects the sub, so I'm not sure where to set it...

If using room correction, standard procedure is to set phase and delay/distance to zero, crossover to max or off, and start with the volume in the middle. The room correction program will guide you through setting levels and will let you know if you need to adjust it.

You are correct. Set speakers to small, select crossover frequency for both speakers and sub, set distances to speakers and sub, run roomEQ on platinum hub.

Thanks both!

@Chromatischism as far as I can tell, the Buchardt software doesn't guide you on adjusting the sub's level, frustratingly. It could be user error, of course.

Unfortunately you can't adjust the volume through the app, you need to use the dial on the back of the sub.

I would also suggest, since the Platin seems like a capable device for bass management and EQ, that you upload the Max SPL tuning to the Sub 10 before level matching (it's the sub's unfiltered response).

You're kidding, right? That's crazy.
You can't adjust the main level on the sub through the app. - just as with any other sub, it has to be adjusted with a dial on the back.
Once appropriately adjusted to the room and the rest of the speakers, overall volume can be adjusted with remote or app as usual.

With my Arendals the volume can be adjusted from the app, it seems a pretty common sense feature. Not having the option on the Buchardt is inconvenient.

Thinking of adding a second sub in my HT setup (open space large volume room, high ceilings, soon to be full dirac). I already have a Kef KC92 and I am undecided whether to get another one or go for this SUB10. KC92 would be some 300 100 EUR more expensive. Any thoughts? Is there any benefit from going with a different characteristic for the second sub?

Probably better to stick with the same sub. From what I remember of the KEF subs, by design, their output is non-linear. So I would imagine the relationship between a KC92 and a SUB10 would be less stable than two level matched KC92s when pushed.

I agree with Ken, stick with the same sub. Introducing two different subs can cause more issues.
