For owners using the A10, do you use the Plantin Hub or an external DAC? I have an existing DAC with XLR and my first thought was to just connect it that way. Just wondering though if I am adding extra conversion for no reason from my PC.

Some people do that, and it's a viable option.
However, you'd be going digital-analog-digital-analog for no good reason.
Part of the technical elegance of the whole solution is the way that everything is kept in the digital domain right up to the output stage of the amplifiers, IMO.

I used both, both sound good. Been using the Platin hub this year but going back to XLR and my WiiM ultra streamer so I can connect my subwoofer, TV, HDMI auto turn on etc and have everything off one device. I prefer the WiiM interface and ease of use.
