Generally I agree. This didn't seem to be one of those that needed the deeper dive, but maybe I'll be shown to be wrong. Wouldn't be the first or last!

Well, I skipped my normal set of qualifiers, and left out context that made my answer too narrow, so I appreciate the reminder to sharpen my pencil a bit!
 
Now if you talking about colored in general well hell everything in the chain provides that.

Only if the components have been designed explicitly to do so.

Transducers are inherently colored. Some come pretty close to neutrality, but all have audible compromises to one degree or another.

Amplifiers are usually only colored when pushed beyond their comfort zones, but of course any amount of distortion can be added by the designer.

Line level gear is trivial to design well enough to work as "wire-with-gain" as far as human ears are concerned, but again, a designer can mess it up any way he/she chooses.

Cables and interconnetcs can only be "colored" if their electrical parameters are so bonkers that it effectively makes them work as a part of a filter, meaning that they must either have been designed deliberately with malicious intent, or the designer lacks basic knowledge about electronics.

So yeah, you can definitely cobble together a system where all parts of the chain "colors" the output in some way, but there's far easier ways of mangling the signal with a much more predictable outcome, if you are absolutely hellbent on doing so.
 
@amirm This review speaks for itself. Not so much to say with this price to performance ratio. What I do miss though, is some more indepth into the digital side of things. At Bricasti website they mention DDS clocking, which offer some advantage over standard PLL and fixed base clocks. From what I reccon DDS isnt the usual staple clocking technology for consumer audio. It would be very interesting If you would elaborate on these issues.

Ill ask you again where did you read the analog circuitry is colored. Now if you talking about colored in general well hell everything in the chain provides that. What you are saying is R2R dacs sound different because they are colored

Then K2 is minus 96 dB, K8 is minus 99 dB, some noise also.
Everything quite o.k.isch….. But nothing special. And there are some devices out there for 1/20 of the cost and with more than 20 dB more transparency, what by the way means „fully transparent“
So the lampi is slightly „colorated“…..
