Any reason anyone would prefer the Purifi modules vs the NCx500 variant when it offers more power ?
Is the Purifi offering cleaner power?

It is a trade off between more power and cleaner high frequency response.

Other than the casing, what's the main difference between the A series and the Arthur versions of the 4216/E2, and in what use case would one be preferable to the other?

Arthur has three gain settings vs. two for the A 4216/E2.

The main differences Arthur – A series are as following:
ArthurA series
Input buffer/gain stage – gain3 levels2 levels
Input buffer/gain stage – topologyCompositeStandard
Input buffer/gain stage – regulatorsUltra-low noiseStandard
Input buffer/gain stage – PCB4 layers2 layers
Wake sourcesAudiosenseAudiosense and 12V trigger
Switches and connectorsNeutrik, NKK, SchurterNoname
Cooling conceptConductionConduction and natural air convection
ChassisFull aluminum with Nextel paintSteel and aluminum

The Arthur design concept was to do our best for performance, reliability, build quality and aesthetics, then look at how much it costs. The A series had a price target that forced a few compromises. But is has a better cooling concept, so if your plan is to put the amp in a closed cabinet, the A 4216/E2 is for you.

Technically yes, but according to their datasheets, under 10W and 4 ohms both are below audibible levels: < -120dB artifacts. And 10W in these high frequencies means that a ton of watts would be used on the other frequencies, as music content is like -40dB at near 20 kHz. So these below are "worst case practical scenarios" for treble distortion while listening to music in high SPL.

IMO I would say the more significant trade off is that NCx500 has +200W more power into 4 ohms, while the 1ET6525SA has -3.7W lower idle losses (heat like of an LED light bulb).

My usual response to this question is that the NCx500 is useful for people doing heavy handed room eq without subs. Others should choose the 1et6525sa that runs much cooler.
If one wonders how to differentiate the modules from measurement standpoint, the biggest difference is the THD+N vs power curve that is noise dominated (straight line) until clipping for Purifi while for Hypex modules (except Nilai) distortion dominates noise above a certain power. Small details too, like what looks like a bit of noise modulation for Hypex in the curves you showed.

1. Mr Boxem: would you be so kind to explain why mostly Boxem use 6525 Purifi in Arthur and A series vs 7040, which is available only as Mono/double mono solution ?
Price, power supply , availability or ?

2. I know general (and my also) opinion about stereo vs 2 x mono or dual mono system, but would like to hear your opinion as well.

Thx in advance. Hope not asking to much...

Aw, so all NCoreX-derived units are not equal... still might be excellent enough for those hesitant to spend the extra 900 € needed for a 4-ch Purifi - in any case, it's good to have the choice ;)
