Not at all: Amir measured 20.18 dB Gain with ca. 105 dB SINAD in the old implementation (audiophonics HPA400ET)
And 20.44 dB Gain with ca. 111 dB SINAD in the new 1ET6525SA boxem amp (Second Generation Eigentakt)
I guess, both is the middle gain setting!
Audiophonics 400 Putifi Amir measured at 109 SINAD (Low)

Not sure the price is correct:

I see it for €1,487.50 instead of €1,160 (Germany)
Here is the link I am using: https://boxem-audio.eu/en/stereo-amplifiers/62-369-a-4216e2.html

It still shows €1,160 (with default binding post). Your link is with a different binding post and gives me €1,250.00. Likely the shopping cart is detecting where one is located and is adding local taxes and such to arrive at your price.

Notice that the price quoted is without VAT. Add 19% for Germany I believe. As @amirm points out there is a price difference for different binding posts

Why bother? ...

You will pay tarifs what ever at the end of the road ... Components come from outside usa for most of it ...
Hope your integrators dont get aluminium box from canada hahaha
The difference is the US based integrators pay tariff on their imported materials cost only, and at wholesale price. If you buy from overseas, you pay tariff on the retail price (including labor, overhead, and profits). Whether or how much the US integrators mark up the tariffs they paid is a different matter.

Aluminum from Canada is only affected if it is raw/not in a manufactured form, otherwise it still falls under USMCA designation (tariff-free).

Not commenting to take away attention from boXem and their superb implementation (I've said it before, he's my pick if we are not in someone's thoughts when purchasing).

If a US supplier regards themselves as competing directly with an EU supplier, the price to the consumer will probably be the same (or even higher, as the buyer might pay extra to have US support and avoid the hassle of importing)

The correct way of thinking about this is not:

Price = material + markup

But:

Markup = price - material

The price is what the customer is willing to pay.

You will not receive warranty support without domestic presence. Heck, guess it makes little difference. Very little warranty support with domestic network. I notice several major brands use a small shop in Indiana as an authorized repair center. Kudos for the business. Come on. They cannot possibly handle the demand. Even Apple’s warranty support sucks. I sued in small claims court over 10 years ago. Received default judgment. What next? How do you collect. Couldn’t believe it. 6 weeks later received a check from Apple for full amount of judgment including filing fee. My daughter still reminds me I charged her 150 attorney fees even though I fronted the filing fee.

First of all - finally 2nd gen Eigenfakt mesurements, in what looks like competent implementation.

To be honest - I am slightly disappointed, that high frequencies distortion ballooning still has not been significantly improved. This is where D Class still lags behind competent AB class amps. I was noping that increase in bandwidth would bring 10 and 15kHz lines closer to 5kHz

Optimizing for even better 1kHz SINAD is probably not worth the effort anymore.

I would say yes, but it doesn't matter what we say/tell, those who don't believe just won't believe.., one of their simple but illogical logic based reason/rational is that if all amps (even though almost no one has actually ever said all amps sound the same, but that's why they have in their mind) sound the same, why are there so many and so many who don't mind paying a lot more for those they think sound better. In that sense, no, it is not a "solved" problem, not until amps are sell with certified transparent result based on not only bench test results such as ASR's, but also DBT based results, certified engineer's report, and better still, along with a psychologist's note) lol.....
I own a Benchmark AHB2 and two Fosi V3 mono’s. I can switch between them using a Luxman As-50r switching device at identical volume levels and listen to them via Revel F228-Be.
And guess what? I can’t here any difference at all..

My conclusion is this: provided good measuring linear electronic devices are used the sound is fully determined by the speakers (given a certain room).

If you look at the labels for multitone test they are both at Low gain.
Difference is that boxem's Low gain is about double than Audiophonics Low gain (20dB vs 12dB)
Oh, I did not realize that there is no 12dB gain setting in boxems implementation. Source?

Amir's measurements, always look here:

Only that way you'll have apples to apples comparisons.

We have tried quite a number of Hypex/Purifi iterations and Fred’s have easily the neatest internal construction, the highest build quality and reliability.
Also Fred is very approachable ( not like some) , quick to respond and places customer care first and foremost.
Thank you Amir for the review.
Keith
Yes Keith
But can Freddie make a great 'Judd mat Gaardebounen'

Node Icon as pre-amp/streamer incl. Dirac, paired with Audio Physic Tempo Plus speakers.
Except for the speakers we have the same setup. Are you happy with?! For me… heaven!
