As a consumer i would look for exemple at Arthur 4216/e2 @ 1860 euro stereo with 2 Purifi 1ET6525SA Eigentakt and one hypex smps 1200

Comparing an amplifier priced the same VAT included against VAT excluded is a good start...

Performance wise ..these two amps play the same game

So convenient to ignore the only actually objective data. As an example, the A 4216/E2 measured on this thread has an SNR 3 dB higher than the Apollon at equivalent gain. That's 1.5 x lower noise level. Arthur improves by 2 additional dB.

4 gain settings and 2 power supply Versus 3 gain settings and one power supply for stereo for the boxem

Again conveniently forgot the auto on/off.

boxem looks expensive in comparaison

That's the inconvenience of abiding EU laws by displaying prices VAT included.

That said, Apollon make very good products and I have a lot of respect for them.

Summary: well chosen nickname, congrats. Just stay away from microwaves and mixers if you are too lazy to do your homework.

Didn't see for VAT prices, it doesn't change so much as the appollon has an extra power supply and it cost them too to implement it compared to Arthur, so ignoring it is convenient and a good start ..not speaking about the bigger and better finish case that adds up to the cost too


Performances are beyond hearing treshold so what ever makes better performances on paper won't be heard anyway
