Bluesound releases 2024 ICON streamer

I hope the very good ADC and headphone output will also be tested.
The frequency response with Dirac Live up to 100kHz would be a nice to have.

My Icon is on its way to Amir today for testing. We’ll get some answers to some of the questions in this thread soon hopefully.
Awesome, thanks for taking one for the team. Much appreciated. Can't wait to see the results!

Thanks for sending it in. I assume you drop shipped it, which means Amir will prioritize reviewing it so that you get a chance to try it while it’s still in the return window.

No I got it at a nice discount so not that worried if I have to sell it along. He said 2-3 weeks to get to it so stay tuned.

There is no official price there nor the possibility of ordering it for Italy (at least as far as the site opens on my iPad... :)).
Interesting. At least in the USA, it’s $39.

However, from what I see here, there is no individual calibration for that microphone but rather a "generic" one.

In my experience, the conflating of "ground" with "signal reference" and "signal return" in the engineering of a product occurs way way too frequently.
It's like a wack-a-mole game.

"floating ground" is another term I find rather irritating. Are they floating an exotic potted plant in pure dihydrogen monoxide?

Hello.
I've been enjoying my Node Icon in my audio setup for a few days now and I'm very happy to have replaced my previous streamer consisting of a Wiim Pro and a SMSL SU-9 DAC which works very well, but not as well as the Icon's internal DAC with its two ES9039s. I use its outputs connected to my Yamaha A-S1200 amplifier with the Wharfedale Linton. The sound from this device is clearer than my previous streaming setup. I hope to continue enjoying the Icon for a long time.

If you use selected microphone capsules with a narrower tolerance, this should not be a problem.

Amir please!!!!!

We are probably getting into areas where the standard tests cannot provide a sufficient answer.

At that price it is not possible and in any case even much more expensive microphones have different measurements without an individual calibration file.
