Bluesound NODE (N132) pops on every stream state change

My N132 pops through its analog outputs on every transition: reboot, stream start, and every Spotify lossless track change between 16 and 24 bit. AirPlay at constant 16/44.1 still pops, so no format change is needed. Silent at idle and steady playback. 320kbps is clean.

Ruled out: Dirac off (identical), grounding, cables, minimal config, all sources. Pops through the headphone out too.

Measured: DMM min/max on the RCA out, unloaded. Three DC excursions per reboot, up to 10mV, matching the audible pops. DMM undersamples, so 10mV is a floor.

Bluesound: support says “we completely understand that not everyone find this experience acceptable. Your feedback is important to us, and we are documenting your concerns and forwarding them to our QA Lab for further review”. Engineering says the mute is DAC soft mute plus a BluOS controlled switch IC with internal shunt, and they cannot guarantee firmware fixes it 100%. So: clamp exists, timing is firmware, sequencing does not bracket transitions.

Context: I run power amp direct (Main In, Yamaha A-S1200), the preamp replacement config Bluesound markets. About 30dB more gain than typical, which is why I hear it and most do not.

Asks:
1. Anyone with a NODE and a scope: true peaks at the RCA out during reboot and a 16/24 bit track change?
2. Other owners: mixed resolution lossless queue, do you hear the tick?
3. Teardown people: which switch IC is it?
4. Is 10mV+ DC at a line out during transitions acceptable for a marketed preamp replacement?

Not a burn thread. Great streamer in steady state. Looks like a small firmware sequencing bug that lossless made constant, on a platform owners cannot patch. I want it characterised and fixed.

Can't speak to the Blunode, but when you say 30db more than usual you realize that ~30db is around what an poweramp does in highest gain?

And you use an A-S, which is not a poweramp and has an input sensitivity of just 200mv (would have to check) for max. volume.

Have you tried dialing preamp gain down?
