BLUESOUND goes Dirac Live

Hi,

i found this new Node Icon very interesting.

I am running a LS3/5A and a KEF KC62 in nearfield environment.

Does the node icon with dirac come with high/low pass filters to seperate signals to Subwoofe out below 80 Hz and to mains out over 80 Hz?
So that my LS 3/5a do not see any signal below 80HZ?

Regards
Loo

@Flak I looked everywhere on your site, I can't find any information on the 30 days of withdrawal... :(
I confirm it... I'm the one who usually issues the refunds :)

thanks a lot!
I might do the 30 day technique while waiting for my bluesound ;)

I just returned the base Node (not Icon) due to one major UX headache: not having per-input gain settings. The HDMI input is much quieter than the the streaming services and BluOS and the lack of per-input settings mean music comes on painfully loud if you forget to turn down the volume when changing inputs. Looking at their support forums, this has been a known issue for quite a few years.

You can set presets for inputs including volume setting under BluOS.
Which negates the utility of it being able to auto detect which input is being used. It is such an odd quality of life miss.

But why is your HDMI source so much quieter
That's not the case for me under BluOS with my Bluray player.
HDMI is likely sending uncompressed full dynamic range content (movies) whereas streaming services may be dealing with the loudness wars of loud music intrinsic to the recording.

Whatever the underlying reason is, My Sony A95L works fine with Kef's implementation of eARC on the LS60s. They still sound great, but getting Dirac into the chain without workarounds would be a nice win eventually.

Sometimes it helps to set the TV output to PCM.
I didn't have any success with any setting on any device in the chain, and it seems to be a known issue online; so for now, I'll hold off on it.

How can I get the 30% off for Dirac live for my Icon? Is there a code?

My Icon is coming in like 3-4 days but I ddidn't want to miss the 30% discount sale. Can I purchase the license now and install when it arrives?

Yes, that's possible since the activation key doesn't expire

Hello,
I allow myself to intervene here to confirm the problem of the sound level of the node N130 for my part, I connected my TV to it via HDMI to have the volume control by CEC (TV remote control) it is such a difference in level at least -10db and if we forget to lower when we switch to another source on the Node like TIDAL,we burst our eardrums. I do not understand how such a bug still exists after several generations of Node, I find it shameful!
I have not found any solutions to remedy it, I am open to any proposal.
Now for Dirac, I'm waiting to see the possibility if one day it exists to be able to try this functionality on my N130, in the meantime too bad for the -30% discount at the moment...
(Sorry for my english, Google translate helps me)

Hi All,

I want to get a streamer/transport with DIRAC to feed into my Chord Qutest DAC (or possibly a better DAC) and then my Hegel H390 amp.

The choice seems to be the Node Icon or the only other streamer I know of which has DIRAC, the MINIDSP Studio or MiniDsp SHD.

Feature set aside, does anyone know how they compare from a pure audio quality perspective when used as a digital transport into an external DAC? The MINIDSP products measure and review well:
