Blue Jeans Cables

Same here as well. I have multiple cables, all RCA, using their standard connectors. Most purchased in the last 18 months or so, a few much older. Best cables I've got. No problems at all.

I have no idea what’s going on with me…just keep checking them to see if they sag and loose the connections
Definitely not in the camp to spend tons of cash on cables

Haven't really had this problem crop up with RCAs... but realistically any half-decent RCA will be equally good absent major interference. If the BJCs don't work for you, just go for the next available and don't worry about it.

Have any other brand to try?..I could buy one set to see..my next step tomorrow is to take my system apart to see how the RCA are seating…which is a real pain but has to be done

Honestly anything on Monoprice that doesn't look too crappy to you should work fine. For short runs, any copper cable usually does the job 100%, unless there is a mechanical issue.

Outside of ASR there are a lot of folks who believe cable quality has a lot to do with sound quality. However, the numbers do not support this idea in any way. You need runs of close to 300 feet before you should really start worrying about cable quality (in terms of sound) at all.

I have a box somewhere with old cables so will see how they seat …if I can find it..but there is a problem when even my dacs , different brands don’t seat well…

I have not used overpriced cables in some time but can confirm that some “audiophile” cable connections I have used in the past were so tight you had to hold down a 40lb amp in fear of breaking an RCA connection. I have a couple Blue Jean Cables and friends who love them and have not had any issues. I’m too lazy to make my own cables and would rather just not be bothered so I just buy whatever looks decent. As a company they seem legit to giving you a quality piece of wire you can trust that looks ok if you care about that.

The old cables were from years past, after 50 years of buying stuff you have a box of old cables probably nothing wrong with them…but I to am worried about to tight of a connection…maybe I can put something under the connections to keep the RCA cable even with the rca connections of the components…so they don’t sag over time..first thing I need to take it apart and look with a magnifying glass and from someone previous post maybe the Blue Jean RCA is to fat and holding it back for going all the way in to seat

If it’s an older cable it’s possible a crimp at the RCA or oxidation could be an issue. If it was me, I’d clean it up good and reseat the RCA connector on fresh wire. It’d take 10 minutes while guessing clues on Jeopardy.

Never had one problem with my LC-1 other than the fact that they are heavy/stiff and the Taversoe connections are pretty intense on old gear with crappy connectors. I've had the same cables since 2009 or so and they still have amazing grip. I went mostly balanced a few years ago, so I barely use them, but won't get rid of them.

again - not sure which connectors you have, but BJ has RCA cables that are higher quality that you can tighten and untighten by rotating the tip of the connector. i have no idea if that's what you have, though. i know that's what i installed at my GF's place and they work flawlessly. i also think they are a great company that would exchange the cable if there's anything wrong with it.

Agreed - I had a bad XLR cable from them and instead of fixing it myself, they just sent a new one. Good customer service in my experience.

Humm…I have the ones that push in not by rotating the tip which sounds great..can’t find that kind on their site is it the expensive ones in the iconoclast site

ive had zero issues with my lc1s. they solidly connect. no droop, sag. 4yrs.

Humm…I just took the cable off my amp and preamp…if I turn them just right they seem ok..but I have to work at it..I dug up some old amps I have out in the shed that I don’t use..Yamaha, Phase linear, Sony etc…they all are a little loose up and down..next pull them off my dacs

Well hell must be me..banging head against the wall

Maybe do a short video with a phone showing the looseness. Post here or send it to BJC.
