Hello,
Hey everyone was wondering if anyone has had problems with the Blue Jeans LC-1 RCA interconnects? Today when I fire up my rig one cable had drooped down and caused one channel to barely come on…the cable was definitely pushed in all the way but checking the cables they all are a little loose up and down side to side..and that’s with all my gear..I don’t expect them to be like the old monster cables with a death grip but what the hell is going on…I am not new to this hobby….anyone that have these cables check yours and get back to me..thanks..

Cables are some of the easiest audio components to DIY.

You can save a lot of money and choose your own specs and components.

It's super rewarding work, highly recommended! :D

How long have you had them?

I agree there may be an easy way to tighten them up, but would also urge caution as squeezing 1 side (east-west) could possibly make the other side (north-south) a little more loose. Good contact needs to be achieved all around.

Might be worth a call to BJC and talk to them about a fix?

I called them, they said we sell thousands of them with no complaints…does anyone have them out there can you move them up and down side to side…it’s with all my gear…Pass Labs gear , both dacs the same way loose fitting up and down side to side…just checked my blue jeans sub cable same thing..thinking back over the last couple years this has caused me problems before just didn’t figure it out at the time..the cables today with the problem are a couple months old..rest of the cables a year or two old at most

All you can do is shove them in all the way lol

Did your order locking RCA connectors? If so they will stay lose unless you lock them.
Good point. It sounds odd that many cables had connectors this loose otherwise.
Tighten, insert, tighten, insert... until snug fit.

Ya tried that they just don’t fit snug, I went out in the garage and found a old sub cable from 20 years ago, not a monster cable but some cheap cable it fits snug just right…what the hell

The amp and preamp are on the floor with stands 6 inches high so it’s not like they are in racks pulling down hard on the cables…they just don’t fit great…

Some of my Blue Jeans LC-1 cables are 20+ years old, still like new. No deterioration in the connectors, insulation etc. They fit snugly on all of my various devices. Do they still use the Taversoe connectors? Those are some of best connectors out there. If yours are loose on several different devices, it sounds like the connectors are defective. That is the key point to tell Blue Jeans when you return them for warranty replacement.

You can’t move them up or down at all?..the pair going from the amp to the preamp are a couple months old and plugged them in once and they move up and down side to side not extreme but a little just enough to cause a problem over a few weeks I guess..the other sets for my two Dac are about a year old after finding the invoice…

Likewise, I'm still using cables from Bluejeans I bought 20+ years ago.

I have some slightly used Monster cables that will never loosen.

They are currently attached to a discarded receiver, but I have some bolt cutters.

My Pass Labs amp and preamp should have good RCA connections and my two dacs the Denafrips Venus and New Ontech should be good too..damn

Ya I remember those monsters about 20 years ago trying to get them off a old Yamaha receiver lol…not good..in fact I probably have some in a box filled with old cables

The Taversoe RCA plugs are quite long, so while they fit snugly, you can feel the tension when you plug them in all the way, they stick out far enough that there is just a bit of play when they're plugged in because their length means the "lever arm" is so long. The play is not loose or wobbly. Along the inside circumference of each plug are about 10 small gold leaf springs, and they have just a bit of give as you try to move the plug around.

Too tight is not good. In the past I've had too-tight cable connectors rip the RCA socket out of the device. Oops!

The plugs are on the fat side, so is it possible the plug is getting obstructed and not fully engaging?

I got a little excited when I called Blue Jeans and talked to Jeff, sorry about that Jeff if you read this…thinking back I had a problem with their bananas I thought, now I know it was the RCA cables not seating properly…I even sent my speaker cables back for retermination bananas to spades on the amp end..and even back more I had a problem with the BAV rca cable that one was way more loose fitting on my tube amps..hummm
