Hello all, I am hoping to get some input on which of these two DAC's, the BluDento BLT-2 and the BerryBak BEA1, to acquire for a friend. They have a very modest analog set up though I would still like to retrieve the better of these two low end DAC's for them particularly for bluetooth usage. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @gang_listen5930! Welcome to ASR.

The BEA-1 has been a flawless Bluetooth receiver for me (using SPDIF/Toslink out).

It supports more audio codecs than the BluDento, uses a newer BT Receiver chip, and USB-C for power instead of an obsolete Micro USB port.

On top of that, it costs less than half as much when ordered directly from Sure Electronics: https://store.sure-electronics.com/product/796

I'd recommend you get your friend the BEA-1, to plug into their receiver via Coax or Toslink.

Any measurements available for BEA-1 ?

Planning to order the BEA-1.

EDIT - Hmm, when I start adding up exchange rate and shipping costs and import fees, I can get Topping e30 lite from amazon.ca for a little more.

On paper, the BEA-1 appears far superior.

I did see this review that described the DAC as having noise and not being the best quality.
Which is a shame seeing it does use the popular ES9018K2M.
Perhaps it's a matter of improving or adding some filters, but I haven't looked into it.

Seeing that it uses the QCC5171, I am trying to determine if the configuration supports TWS+ and/or TWM and how to setup.
I'm also curious to see what could be done to program other capabilities, specifically eq.

How do you change source between usb and Bluetooth?

How do you change source between usb and Bluetooth
I've made a review:
and time code for easy access how source selection works.

Basically you can have both USB and Bluetooth connections established, but priority will be given to Bluetooth,if you play music from Bluetooth device it will automatically switch to Bluetooth, if you pause music,it goes back to USB audio.
