I wanted to build a floor to ceiling absorber and cover the front with some slats to offer some diffusion in the midrange. However, I could not find an online calculator for binary amplitude slat diffusers. Most are for QRD diffusers with variable cell depth. So I made a little HTML calculator which I am sharing here. Please feel free to re-distribute it or host.

I made it this way because I wanted to choose a visually pleasing an practical pattern for my build.

I want to make a diffuser similar to this but to my own spec:

P.S. You can make curved ones like this no problem. Unlike a QRD with varied depth wells, the binary amplitude mask can just be mapped to the profile and will still work to improve diffusion. This is the one I plan to make, 800mm wide, 2400mm tall. Slats will be 6mm birch plywood. Depth is 250mm on the left side, 150mm on the right.
I shifted the sequence so both sides of the frame count as part of the reflective cells.

I take it the curved profile acts like a poly diffuser? I just complete this build today.

Poly curve, from 4" bands of 1/8" hardboard, separated by 1" slots; behind is loosely packed with rock wool. Your approach gives me additional design options for my room.

For me, the curve is just to have thicker absorber but not seem too intrusive in the room. However a gentle convex curve like you show could help with scattering on top of the binary amplitude diffusion.
