Big Knob at MLP ideally Wireless for ad-hoc Volume control with Loudness, mute etc

which can of course be implemented anywhere in the chain if inserting a dedicated RPi just for that

My current Volume Level control is Schiit's Eitr 2 + Forkbeard, which includes the auto-variable LC

but that requires using a phone or tablet for remote, while I prefer a Big Knob physically at me fingertips, usable with my eyes remaining closed.

Anyone with skillz, have ideas on bridging a Big Knob with Eitr 2?

Does not need to be Fosi Audio VOL20 but that looks nice and cheap.

Any other suggestions for good LC implementations? on CamillaDSP if I go that route?

Take a look at the M5dial thread here. It uses wi-fi though, not Bluetooth. The VOL20 should work with your tablet/phone out of the box, so it could potentially control the Forkbeard app that way.
