Beta Test: Multitone Loopback Analyzer software

It's probably ADI's input sensitivity as it's adjustable.
Check this out too.

Turns out the issue was a simple calibration setting in MTA (level calibration factor) that was set to +10dB. Issue's solved.

Hi, I'm new to Multitone. Just downloaded it yesterday and started testing it, but I can't find any tab or preset related to the "LP" measurement. I'm trying to measure wow and flutter from a test tone in WAV format.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Regards,

Álvaro

Hi Álvaro,

In Multitone settings (gear icon at top right of the main window), enable Show LP analysis tab option:

Thanks, Paul. I managed to add the LP tab, but when I try to load the attached wav file, I get this error.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks again.

It's not you, it's me :)

Looks like one of the recent UI changes to accomodate floating plot windows broke the update of the LP plot. This new version should fix the issue. Download and run the installer (v1.2.12)

Let me know if you're still having problems:

Thanks! It’s working now.

Is the value shown as Weighted (DIN) an RMS measurement?

Cheers!

Hi @pkane,
I recently did my first steps with Multitone and I'm impressed. Great work :)

I read that test plans are supported but opening the menu I can add my own but no defaults are given.
Is there a file available where I can for example automatically run test to get results same as those from @amirm?
If such a file (or something like the @amirm measurements) exists it would be great if you might share that.

That's on top:

Test>test plan>etc

Not quite Amir's AP measurement plan, but you can start with the test plan I used to measure the latest RME converter. The plan is attached at the end, in a zip file: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...to-measured-with-multitone.43243/post-1531201

You may need to make some adjustments for levels, etc.

It looks like it's done? Did you try to click View Test Results?
It's stuck at the J-Test and that's by far not the last test.

There is not much in the result folder..

I'll try again and do nothing else with the PC during the measurements.

Yes, try again. It looks like it didn't get all the data it expected from JTest input device

So far it now runs without the J-Test. What I wonder about is that the display in my ADI-2 Pro always shows approx. 11dB less as Multitone shows in its processing box. Any idea?

With the Log Sweep FR (4M) test that takes quite long it asks me if I like to continue. Pressing Yes I see this error report.

Double-check your settings (including that of the Multitone Analyzer -- remember the calibration setting you had originally set can affect measured levels)

Hmm, there is nothing in MTA that prompts you to wait longer. Something else is going on. Is that a Windows message by any chance? That test plan step used a 4M FFT size (as I wanted to see the DC filter behavior well below 1Hz). 4M FFT can be a very heavy lift for some CPUs, especially laptops. I'd suggest you adjust it to 1M or even lower for this step.

By the way, you may benefit from using the updated version of MTA I posted -- this has some fixes for UI-related issues that could cause plots not to be updated resulting in that error message you posted. Please try it (v1.2.12):

Hi Paul,
I'm on 1.2.9 now as I can't access the link above.

I have made some progress so level ist OK now. I run the ADI-2 pro FS R with -0.5dB volume and +24dBu output level. I now run one test after the other to see which gives reasonable results. I run in STEREO mode as my idea is to have one channel in 1:1 loopback and the other with the device under test inserted in the loop. This makes sense to me as in this mode I can compare the changes the device under test creates.

Last I ran TD+N vs frequency (only) all other tests are not checked in the list. At the end of execution I get the error message attached.
The legend in the generated diagram also looks strange. For the left channel it says THD for the right TD+N. Seems somehow odd to me.

I added my current configuration to enable debugging for you.

Best DrCWO

EDIT:
With THD vs Level I see the same wrong legend saying THD (Left) dB and TD+N (Right) dB. Same Error Message after the measurement was saved here and quite a strange result comparing Right and left...
