Beta Test: Multitone Loopback Analyzer software

I managed to reproduce this once (and the phase and impulse response graphs were blank too).

Somehow it now works as intended for me. Strange!
It works for me too at times, but its not stable. The next session it may not.

History window items have their own color setting that's independent of the main color selection. This is so that you can add multiple older results to the same plot and not have them all look the same.
Colors at the main chart don't work for me either.
It's usually orange for the graph and blue for the notch (my selections, the specifics are from my wife's catalog of working colors this year) and now it's all the same blue, orange don't work.

Paul, I wonder if this issue has been discussed in this thread. The IMD+N measure appears to be incorrect in my measurements below:

index.php

IMD+N should always be above IMD over the entire range of levels. But that is not the case in the above results---I am using v1.1.12. What am I missing here?

EDIT: By the way, thank you so much for creating this wonderful software. I recently posted a comparison review of two audio interfaces based on measurements made with your MLA.
Hmm, that does look strange. I'll take a look to see how that's possible.

If you select a different color nothing happens? Is this on the Frequency response chart only or on Spectrum as well? And are we still talking about colors from a history pick?

The same,I tried different.
The Spectrum,yes,wait for example.

One more bug:

This error comes after every sweep (Level, frequency and interval) at the very end:

Ok,I'm short of practicing for a review of an x-over and thought to try X-correlation too (it will take time, just practicing! )

Does this seems legit to you?-117dB noise is E-MU's theoretical limit.

30 cm Y-cable is a pain!

(I get the same numbers with REW,I cross-checked it)

Looks good to me.

Another test version of Multitone, v1.2.3 is available: https://app.box.com/s/ue7ll9xmvwogst817x2l1xg09opvgy47

This has fixes for reported issues:
  • Color can't be changed for Color 2
  • Error message at the completion of a sweep
  • Frequency response and phase plots don't display when selected from the History view
There was also some additional work done to improve IMD calculation, as well as, the default (Multitone) notch for THD and TDN+N calculations.

Thanks!

Everything seems to be working fine...

Hopefully this will be the last update before this version becomes an official release :)

Multitone v1.2.4: https://app.box.com/s/ue7ll9xmvwogst817x2l1xg09opvgy47

Changes are as follows:
  • Fixed large multitone test signals -- previously 200+ tone test signals could cause an error message
  • Optimized some more the IMD calculation routine
  • Because of this IMD optimization, IMD is now computed and displayed with multitones of up to 1000 tones
  • As a bonus, IMD and other distortion panel metrics are now displayed during multi-average capture, in real time
  • Updated SFDR calculation to ignore any large DC offset that might be present in the capture

Ok now,see my settings:

I have chosen all three to appear but only noise is visible (same at the end of all 16 sweeps)
And on top of that, one out of the three times I tried it choosing different stuff (IMD,SINAD,etc) and I returned to the FR tab I got a very big error message .

MT don't like tubes :p

Well, THD is not something that is measured with a CCIF signal, so I understand why that's not showing up.

Can you try selecting IMD instead of THD? IMD+N is actually the same as TD+N, so try selecting TD+N, IMD, and Noise and see if it works. I'll have to check what happened with IMD+N, and why that doesn't get displayed.

If you get an error message, please post a screen shot.

Ok,I see what's going on there.
It's because IMD+N is overlapping with noise exactly (can't see it but it is)

When choosing plain IMD,TD+N and noise all three appears.
