Hi pkane,

I am using the latest version of your analyzer. As output i use external signal. Signal from my isolated DAC and laptop.
When I press "Start measurement", the measurement will be fine, sometimes also the second time. However, further measurements remain in the measurement process (no error message) and I have to end the program. I use win10. For input i use cosmos with wasapi. I tried setting different sampling rates and resolution in windows. Unsuccessfully. What is wrong?

Thanks

I encountered the same problem "blocked after just a measurement"...
I just installed the "12"...
now it's ok ;-)

(the auto update program did not offer it to me...)

@morillon is right! Version 1.1.12 fixed the sweep issue along with other improvements, but was only released here, in this thread. I just updated the Multitone web page to that version so it will auto-update for those who are a few versions behind and have the auto-update turned on.

I installed version 12. But same problem. After 2-3 measurements program not react. But I solved it. In window "Test signal" can't be a choice "External source". For example, a sine signal must be set there. As output device i set sound card in PC. To this sound card is nothing connected. In reality my is source another laptop with topping E50. It's probably not quite OK, but it works without a malfunction of the program.

Sorry, I can't reproduce the problem. It works flawlessly even dozens of times in a row for me.

There might be something wrong with you settings.

Can you do the following?

1) Setup all the settings of Multitone so the error would occur, but don't start the real measurement.
2) Close Multitone. It saves the settings automatically when closing.
3) Browse to the folder "C:\ProgramData\Multitone Analyzer" and copy and paste the contents of the file "_MultitoneDefault.dw" here.

We can then check if there's something wrong with your settings...

I understand what you want and I am grateful for the help. But I can't find the file "_MultitoneDefault.dw" anywhere on my computer.

ProgramData is a hidden folder, so it's not normally visible unless configured so.

You can paste the following path to the address bar of your explorer window :

C:\ProgramData\Multitone Analyzer

and it should show the contents of the Multitone folder.

If you have hidden the extensions for known file types, the settings file might show only as _MultitoneDefault

Oops, I'm an amateur, I didn't think of this at all  I am attaching the file. The text would be too long.

That's strange...

It still works ok for me with your settings, unless I pause the external player before I hit the record-button of Multitone. Then I get this one:

Multitone doesn't seem to like the "External source" without the actual incoming signal.

I guess your external player is already playing when you hit the record button?

You can of course rename your _MultitoneDefault.dw -file to for example _MultitoneDefault.dw_old when Multitone is not running.

Multitone will then create a new _MultitoneDefault.dw -file with default settings and you can start again from the "factory state".

You can also test with playing and recording with only left channel. Now you are playing with the left channel and recording with both left and right channels:

I did a couple of tests with the External source setting.
It worked when I set L for playing and L for recording device. Same for R.
When I set L+R for playing or recording device the program stopped working after a couple of measurement cycles.
Thanks for your help guys.

Hi everyone, I'm new here!
I installed the software with my Tascam US 144 and encountered this problem.
However, it seems to work anyway.
Any ideas on your part?

Make sure you save settings at least once, then restart Multitone. It looks like the default settings file was not saved for some reason.

Go to File->Save Settings and select _MultitoneDefault.dw file if it's shown, if not, just enter this file name as a new name. Then exit Multitone, and start again. See if you still get this error.
