Beta Test: Multitone Loopback Analyzer software

At the risk of causing tester burnout :) here's a new preview version, v1.0.66:

https://app.box.com/s/ue7ll9xmvwogst817x2l1xg09opvgy47

A few changes in this, but internally, these represent major changes, so are likely to break things I least expect.

1. Primary change is the support for history items viewing in more plots (previously only spectrum). Now, Frequency Response, Phase, and Impulse response plots all allow multiple results to be displayed and compared to each other. For example:

2. Recorded time should be shorter in many cases now. Perviously MT would add some extra time (often unnecessary) to make sure no samples are lost. In some cases, the recording time can be 1/2 the time in the previous versions!

3. Line color for each line is now reflected in the right click menu. The menu also adds a new option at the bottom "Delete last" to remove the last added marker or arrow. This works to remove one element at a time in the opposite order of that in which these were added.

4. A few more options added to position the plot legend:

5. A few history-related issues and the bandwidth hi frequency not being saved were also fixed and hard-coded channels removed from all presets.

Wow! Thanks!

I can't believe how fast it is now!

Hmmm... Is this intentional?

When I press the "Record" -button, it expands it immediately:

Ok,did a quick one with 2M FFT and although took the same time (couple of secs less) it feels more... responsive?Alive?
(got 0.2db better SINAD too :p)

I get an error with the HTTPS certificates. Could there be an issue with box.com?
I get some errors too sometimes but has to do either with Avast guard thing (a blue frame appears) or a windows guard thing, tests it because is new.

There seems to be something w/Box.com that got them on an IP block list. I don't use AVAST but have a setup that relies on public list of IPs/DNS to be blocked...

It's way faster with measurements like multitone. With 512K FFT takes the same time as it did with 256K :D

Have anything changed in the noise calc?I get better results and I have done no mods in the last 12 hours :p.

Nope, no change to noise calculations.

A follow-up with some enhancements and bug fixes, v1.0.67 is now available.

Changes in 1.0.67

  • Add: Frequency response/phase/Impulse response analysis from noise signals
  • Add: History selection now updates FR/phase/IR plots
  • Add: History now allows measurements to be overlayed even those produced using different FFT sizes
  • Add: Mouse movement over the curve in any of the plots will automatically display the X and Y values for that point
  • Add: Linear-Chirp test signal
  • Add: additional position selector options for placing the legend on the plot
  • Fix: Warm-up now works correctly with chirps and noise signals
  • Fix: periodic noise generation (white and pink + bandlimited) corrected

I already broke it!

(system argument out of range, think we have seen it before)
