Yeah i know that MQA isn‘t the real deal, real shame Tidal doesn‘t support uncompressed HiRes. Well in that case i would just go for the SHD and an amp i guess

@joshz could you please mention the flaws of minidsp 2x4 hd that you mentioned before please? I am thinking of buying either this or flex.

Thank you.

I‘m just referring to the measurements in the review. If you have a top dac and amp this will just be a „weak link“ i think

NAD C389/399/3050 with Dirac Live/BluOS module are alternatives.
Dirac Live processing in the M33 is at 192kHz: Link

And this happens very rarely ;)

M33 seems to be processing mqa with and without Dirac Live switched on. You won‘t be disappointed with the m33 methinks!

Interesting in context of previous discussion of EQ and MQA. Also, nice review with comprehensive measurements.

You post said "your PC" also, I expect "we were talking about" is subject to words actually written and reasonable interpretations thereof. :)
The quote he was replying to made it pretty clear to me.

Isnt it better at this stage to inform OP a little about MQA?

MQA:

Is not lossless,
Is not bit perfect
Does nothing useful in the audible band
Throws a load of noise into the higher (ultrasonic) frequency bands.

best solution to your problem is to remove the requirement for MQA.

You forgot about the bit where MQA is defunct ;)
