No , I just did not want guys like you posting 'slippery when wet' tracks insisting it's metalHahaha I thought you were one of those metal heads with the metal thread having "(no pony tails or choral crap)" in the title![]()
Umm.. He probably just did what lars told him toThomas, your SACD, both the CD / SACD layers apparently share the same mastering. You being into no-pony-tail metal, it should be noted that Ted Jensen mastered Tea, he also mastered the brutally compressed Metallica Death Magnetic.

Well the 2011 scad is far far far superior, no nasty top end weirdness. A little less edgy though, that pure emotion of his music going from placid and wistful to a more aggressive tone is a little tempered imo.

Yes, I know it's sacrilegious but often I take Redbook over SCAD. In this case though if there are differences they are small.Thomas, you listen to both the CD and SACD layer?
Possibly the SACD has a little more air and is more genteel, a little fuller in the mid range, with the CD layer a little harder, a little more revealing of the change of intensity when Stevens springs forth in a more agressive tone. That switch up is better served by the CD layer imo.
I still get surprised at how my many of you are still spinning CD's, Everything lives on my hard drive now and I pass the CD's on to friends or charity.
I'm still playin my MFSL 1-035 needle drop. It was a very nice pressing and the vinyl nasties aren't annoying enough to make me want to buy a digital copy to replace it.
Yea, I did, I ripped everything before my move from Chicago down here in 2010. Did a full tuneup on by vinyl rig (new belts, etc) and plugged my PS Audio phono preamp directly into Audicity for the chores, then sold all the vinyl gear. Over 400 LP's now on the HD.So why haven't you ripped your LPs too? (or, maybe you have, what do I know)
