I have a project building a pair of powered loudspeakers using the Hypex modules after having watched this:
My unique source of music is a Lenovo PC with Daphile, therefore using USB as output.
When looking at the Hypex bloc diagram, I have the choice of:
1) using the analog input which means I would have to use a DAC with volume control (SMSL D-6S ?).
But there would be another AD conversion in the Hypex before feeding the DSP.
2) using the digital input but I would need to find a USB to SPDIF converter with a volume control or use the volume control in Daphile and loose the Bit Perfect option.
In this case, the Topping D10s could do the job.
Any thoughts?
As a side question, any reason why there is a DAC between the DSP and the Class D modules? Can't we stay in the digital domain (PCM to PWM possibly?)
