I've no idea what exactly was wrong in my handmade samples I sent Archimago and others but the first 20pcs of SMT production PCBA ES9822Pro 3rd harmonic compensated down to -140-145db. All 20pcs show [email protected] THD 0.00002% i.e. .2PPM. Handmade samples had -133-135db THD .3PPM, anyhow need to investigate the reason of that. I suspect some passive parts, perhaps MLCC. As it is common for ESS the SNR/DR isn't Unit2Unit consistent, a mono mode SNR 128db(A) and higher, noticeable less than 50% of units. Most units within the range 127+/-1db(A), about 10% <126db(A). Will test 100pcs to get finer characterization and group units by grades A, B, and C. I've found the new king between these 20 units, DR 129db(A) THD .2PPM, so far call it grade-0

Left/Right SNR is also quite different sometimes, once I saw 125/122db(A). We can imagine how high may be that difference for the ES9842, because ES9822 uses (ADC1+ADC3)/2 =Left and (ADC2+ADC4)/2 =Right.

that is good news Ivan!

a question; will it also be possible to use the i2s outputs on the board to connect the adc to a dsp?

best regards, Kees

that is great news!
I assume the adc will be clock master in that situation?
And will it be nessecary to cut traces/ modify traces on the pcb for this use, or can it be used in parallel with the usb output?

Much thanks for all your efforts, you are really doing something special!

Here's the clock you need for audiophiles! :D

Really, as PN even most worst as a crappy penny oscillator O:(

1 Hz <–44 dBc/Hz
10 Hz <–64 dBc/Hz
100 Hz <–110 dBc/Hz
1 kHz <–128 dBc/Hz
10 kHz <–135 dBc/Hz
100 kHz <–140 dBc/Hz

Phase noise sort of sucks, but the draw is "atomic" and "expensive". Technical excellence in specifications, with the possible exception of build quality, does not often seem to be an audiophile marketing prerequisite.

@IVX
It may be a proposal that was too late.
In my understanding, it looks like a Y para cable is needed for monaural mode.
Therefore, it would be nice if there was a changeover switch for monaural mode.
If adding a switch is a problem, I'm okay with the method of shorting the board jumper pins.
The Y paracable is a bit annoying to me, so if I don't need it I'll be saved.
What do you think?

not yet, SMT factory busy + some vacations coming, so I've got only 20pcs PCBA so far and calibrated that for sale.
Hi IVX, great work !
Is there a way to know when we will be able to order please ? Or if it's possible to pre-order ?
I missed these first one and don't want to miss it the next time, unless there are some example still available (I don't find info on that)
