Best portable CD player? (tray loading preferred)

I'm looking for any portable CD player with these constraints:

- looks "cool" (or simply not boring like a standard black HiFi component)
- digital output
- good quality analog output (balanced preferred)
- can be powered by battery or USB-C
- is tray loading or lets you see what disk is inside

Any options here? Right now the "best" seem to be the DiskDream or PL100

Does the latest firmware fix the weird distortion issue? It's not clear from what's posted there.

Probably good to ask on the FiiO forum.

Surprisingly, FiiO appear very open to customer feedback there and are quick to update firmwares, given enough customer demand.
