Best No oversampling dac to buy??

Also DS DACs that have a NOS filter feature is just an 'approximation' of a sample-hold signal but a relatively accurate one that may well be better than an actual R2R DAC.
do you have a recommendation in that realm??

But I can hear the actual filter applied, different to when I listen to a nos dac.

NOS has audible high frequency roll off at 44.1/48kHz sampling rates, that’s what you hear, Get an OS DAC, apply equivalent EQ upstream, I’ll sound about the same. Also the DAC3 you have is a parody of a DAC, I had one before I knew better, it colors the sound.

That’s why I’m asking for a better option

What some people are advising you is to only listen to music shipped at 88kHz, 96kHz, 192kHz sampling rates if you don't want the high frequencies bring incorrect in your NOS DAC

No because I cannot recommend any reconstruction filterless DACs.
Hell... only the earliest of Sony CDP had no oversampling but at least they had a filter.
Every CDP that followed had at least 2x OS and proper filters.

Non OS DACs are all filterless (NOS is actually not the correct term) and are simply flawed beyond repair.
The only time they are somewhat useful is if you feed it 96kHz or higher or upsample (which always includes the obligatory reconstruction filter) and convert that filterless. Most non OS DACs only have a slow post filter to filter out some of the 100kHz plus 'garbage' you really don't want in your downstream gear.

I mean os with nos filters, also no recommendations??

You mean DS DAC with NOS 'filter' setting ?

You keep asking for a recommendation of a DAC with a “feature” that intentionally destroys transparency and high fidelity in a forum where transparency and high fidelity are highly valued. I’m not sure why you’d want such a recommendation from members here.

My Topping E30 has such a 'filter' setting (which I do not use of course, that setting... I do use the E30).
Filter 5 (super slow) which I suppose is present in a lot of similar DS DACs.
The E30-II is better (filter 4 in this one)
If you want a really good one .... RME ADI2 DAC (filter 5)

From the user manual for the RME ADI-2 FS.

I participated in buying the topping e70v and the topping l70 with audeze balanced cable for my mm500. With filter 5 I’m using nos.
