Best DAC around 150€?

Hey guys,

i want to buy a DAC/Headphone Amplifier. I'm currently owning a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm edition. I will use this DAC mainly on my desktop PC, rarely on a PS4 (optional).

I've got a budget of 150€. I've read many reviews, but still don't know what DAC would be the best for my setup, though I'm currently leaning towards the Topping D30.

These are some recommended DAC's in the pricerange and are available in europe/germany:

Fiio K3 - 99€
Seems to be very good for this price, though the review here says output is a bit weak.

Topping D30 - 125€
The D30 is recommended often, reviews seem good. My current favorite.

Swissonic HAD-1 - 130€

This product got great german reviews, though i can't really compare it to the Fiio or Topping DAC's, so hard to tell if this DAC is any good.

Topping NX4 - 140€
Is the Topping NX4 a good DAC for stationary use only, despite its build-in battery? Is it better than the Topping D30? Great reviews.


What DAC would you get, and are there other DAC's i should look into?

If you want the D30 you will need an amp as well.
The HAD-1 is a good all in one unit with everything you need.
Topping DX3 is a good choice too

Yes, you're right, the D30 does not have a build-in AMP. I somehow mixed it up.

Would you rather get the Swisscon HAD-1 than the Topping NX4?

The Topping DX3 sadly exceeds my budget.

The HAD-1 seems to measure significantly worse than the NX4, although I doubt the differences would be audible.

Yes, don't like built in battery and the volume knob is placed for mobile use.
The SMSL M3 might fit the bill as well.
I got the HAD-1 for the functions mainly, needed both an USB and toslink in. Not worried that much about the sound quality, it's ok.
The output impedance is high.
