I only have one version of Beethoven's 3rd "Eroica" - James Levine at the Met. It's partnered with Schubert's Sym. No. 8 of which Levine plumbed the depths of the emotional swings in this piece. The recording is not bad either. Are their any other renditions that I should consider as solid interpretations and recordings?

So many to choose from! Fast: Scherchen, Chailly. Monumental: Klemperer, Bernstein.

Streaming services are great ways to get acquainted quickly with conductors, orchestras, sound quality.

Toscanini's various versions come to mind, but also Blomstedt with the Staatskapelle Dresden and Zinman with the Tonnehalle Orchestra Zurich.

Along with excellent others already suggested in previous posts consider listening to the ones by Bernard Haitink/LSO and Joe Hisaishi/Nagano Chamber Orchestra.
The later if one of the most modern accurate,to the spirit of the great Japanese conductors.

One of the first, and one of the best, Original Instruments/Historically Informed Performance Practice Eroicas. The original CDs suffered from CD rot, but fortunately the entirety is on YouTube and doubtless other streaming services:

I'm particularly fond of the 1963 Karajan / Berlin Oompah Band complete cycle, the later digitally recorded 1983 cycle I find less satisfying, if better recorded, or at least a cleaner recording.

For the best ones in modern multichannel sound, I suggest Honeck on RR and/or Savall on AliaVox

Thanks for the suggestions. I downloaded Szell at Cleveland and the 1952 Furtwängler edition. The Szell was okay, but felt that Levine had more emotion instilled in the performance. Haven't had the chance to listen to Furtwängler yet, maybe next weekend.
