I was interested in these when they first started discussing them, what 2 or 3 years ago?? Are they powered? Maybe when you go back to bad you can send them to me!
Longer than that and yes.I was interested in these when they first started discussing them, what 2 or 3 years ago?? Are they powered? Maybe when you go back to bad you can send them to me!
A GGNTKT by any other name...I knew the speaker fro sight. Was clueless as to the company (despite having avidly researched them a couple of years ago and being extremely impressed by what I found.
But could not come up with a way to remember the company's name.
I suspect that only a few people that know Germanic languages would think about it like that.
I was born in Austria & know German & I never thought of it that way.
&, obviously:
I am not the only one that thought it was possibly "the output from a password generator".
Perhaps if someone had explained it this 'GGNTKT phonetically equals GeGeNTaKT way here years ago...
ASCILAB=ASCI LAB and needs little explanation in English. It is quite simple, not complex like GGNTKT is without someone showing or telling you that it can be phonetically said & memorized as: GeGeNTaKT.
Better or worse than Kii Three?
Don't think so - that one has looks only a mother could love. What is this, the most beautiful speaker thread???

Going by the "monopole" tag, the M1 spin data doesn't show the cardioid capabilities.
@roland{at}GGNTKT can you please make the full anechoic data available to @pierre for the M1 and M3? They make actually take the top place, as far as the preference score calculation goes.
We have had far uglier speakers here!Don't think so - that one has looks only a mother could love.
Seriously @Purité Audio they must sound really good to make you consider putting that in your living room![]()
Ironically, ASCI LAB isn't how you cut the word, it's A Sci Lab for Audio Science Lab. But I agree that the sucession of vowels and consonants in English make more sense for an English speaker.I knew the speaker from sight. Was clueless as to the company (despite having avidly researched them a couple of years ago and being extremely impressed by what I found).

(Yes, there is an explanation of the name in their marketing but that was skimed over very quicky in the effort to find information on what the speaker design actualy does)

I am aware of how you cut the word (and what it means), but I also like to play with words. Such that Deep Purple comes out Shallow Lavender. Just havin' fun.Ironically, ASCI LAB isn't how you cut the word, it's A Sci Lab for Audio Science Lab. You successfully decoded our name!GeGeNTaKT isn't that hard of a name to remember. The abbrevation kinda sucks though, I agree. FYI @roland{at}GGNTKT.

The M1 indeed has limited cardioid response. It picks up at ~150Hz.
The M3 is more capable there.
