Some Indian songs with kick bass. YT doesn't have that good impact though.

Spectrograms using online tools. Video spectrogram is cool and really helpful to correlate with audio but seems mp4 can't be uploaded here.

From first 10 pages DeepChord and Andy Stott I liked the most, but I've listened and am familiar with dub techno so no surprise.

One of my bass test tracks is Ray Volpe - Revolution Ft. Virus Syndicate (Crankdat Remix)

It can make your headphones pound your ears one at a time at 1:04 drop and if it does you know the headphones can take a lot of dB without much distortion. Granted, I've boosted bass 10 dB and turned down mids a bit so this drop does not destroy my ears completely.

One of my favorite electronic tracks features a ridiculous amount of bass:
HTRK - Chinatown Style

Edit: Spectogram:
(I just found this thread!)

Definitely a lot of low bass in that, also constant purposeful distortion in that bass as one of the effects. They've baked in a "mechanical rattle" into the bass line - almost like it's simulating a speaker or sub that can't handle the bass and the enclosure is rattling with the vibration. Was an interesting track, definitely not unpleasant!

I like the fact that many of these producers actually take the time to do the sound design with different synthesis techniques instead of using presets.

Ok finally managed to listen some Kenji Kawai on my main system... didn't realize from headphones that common theme on his soundtracks is very prominent 15-25hz. Absolute butt kicking blast on a good system.

More of the same on Ip Man etc..

Recommend to get your hands on this if possible. :)

I decided to run what I consider some of my most bass heavy music through Audacity (lots of Massive Attack tracks), and then exported the results to REW, following is a plot of all those tracks together:
Massive Attack, Spectrum Analysis.jpg

To me from that graph, I think you'd want your speaker to be able to reproduce down to 30Hz properly for most of those tracks, and there's two tracks that to me look like they have significant content down to 20Hz.

These are based on FFT 8192 and Hann Window in Audacity. I also did a version of the graph above but with an average line that represents all tracks, which is the highlighted purple line in the following graph - to get a handle on some more general trends (curiosity), see following thumbnail:
Massive Attack, Spectrum Analysis - Average Line.jpg

I recently did get a sub (which can hit 20Hz) to go with my speakers, and I EQ my headphones to Harman Curve (in the bass & elsewhere) to have Harman Curve level bass down to around 35Hz or 20Hz dependant on headphone which is the point at which the frequency response starts to roll off slowly. So I was just curious to see what some of my most bass heavy music looked like in terms of content down to 20Hz. For my needs it does seem that down to the 30Hz is the most important, but I do use my sub & speakers (2.1 channel) connected to my TV too, so it gets some movie use, praps the 20Hz gets more use in movies than my music.

I heard drum & bass first time in the late 90s Playstation game Rollcage. Didn't know what it was then, but I liked the fast drums and lots of BASS. In 00s I discovered it more and listened a lot of this style.

I like both acoustic bass and electronic bass, but they are two very different sounds. With acoustic bass (and kettle drums) there is a texture that adds some pleasing harmonics. There is a human behind the instruments infusing their emotion when playing. I rate Ray Brown, close miked tracks as my favourite. I listen to hear the “wood” sound of the double bass.

With electronic bass, we have sine waves, and harmonics are added for a pleasing dance inducing emotion. I rate Finnegan (Billie Eilish) as a master of electronic bass compositions.

That's quite interesting sonically (using HD560s headphones without EQ), it doesn't contain a lot of deep bass though apart from the constant low rumble at 25Hz, and I'm not overly sure I'm perceiving that fully with HD560s without EQ. Ha, she's got hidden mysteries!

Well, it's nothing over the top. Plenty of other much more gruesome tracks. Try watching your sub diaphragm while playing Post Malone - Sunflower

Continuing in proper thread.. not sure if it was mentioned here, but funny track. Not too hot but deeep. :)

I would expect this to have been posted many times but search returned zero results.

Some music with great bass.

Anna Von Hausswolff's pipe organ album is a treat for any good system:

Nine Inch Nails live with Pino Palladino on bass - pure porn for bass:

More NIN with Pino Palladino. This bass line always remembers me of Superstition by Stevie Wonder:

Rather obscure French band with an immaculate production, Morthem Vlade Art. Reminiscent of Bowie, very elegant and this track has a great bass:

Let me know if you liked these :)

I've been surprised how bassy this track of rather "classic/easy listening" genre sounds (very pleasant though, kind of reference sounding with regards to voice as well). Spectrogram confirmes it goes to 32/33 Hz. Does anyone know from what source it might be?

The bass on this album is just sublime!
