Bass (not subwoofer) wired out of phase?

I just had my Carver AL-III crossovers rebuilt (Nelion), and I noticed the woofer output was wired out of phase. I asked Greg about this, and he said this is correct based on the spec sheet image (page 10).

Sure enough, the spec diagram shows the woofer out of phase. But as drawn it also shows the ribbon input's positive on the top, and the woofer input's positive on the bottom, making me wonder if this could have been a typo?

If not, why would the woofer be wired out of phase, and should I keep it wired this way?

(I have a separate Rythmik LV12M subwoofer)

Sometimes the polarity of drivers is deliberately inverted to help summation at the crossover point.

I know of at least one brand (JBL) that have some drivers inverted.

2nd order filters invert the phase and are a popular choice for many speaker designers for a number of reasons so many speakers have drivers wired out of phase which actually brings them back into phase at the crossover point at least.

Woofer vs tweeter can have relative polarity reversed. But the question is, why woofer has absolute polarity reversed. Kind of weird, but rather harmless. I wonder if any AVR would complain during calibration.

Before this recent crossover rebuild, I originally ran my Audessey (Denon x3800) and it did flag one of the speakers as being out of phase. I checked my connections and nothing was out of order, and I just thought it was odd. I'll probably try to figure out the Evo1 calibration software once the new xovers are reinstalled.
