Basement 2ch Progression - just dedicated space

I still need to measure things for the second sub, but its in. It is a noticable improvement with 2 subs. Theyre both independently calibrated, using the build-in setup, and running in stereo from the XSP-1. Ive considered hooking them up with the primary-secondary setup that JL has.

We will not be showing the backside of the room... very messy.

Length and volume of the room mainly. Just my opinion when looking at the pics.

I can at least say by ear, there is a big difference in each setups bass E112 > F113 > dual F113. the duals have some punch even on a concrete floor

The F113 looks very nice to me. One can fill the room no doubt. But two should be impressive.

Can't have enough reach down and power when there is no neighbor-problem. :)

Need to work on some placement adjustment and more measurements, need to work on the nulls. but still un treated this is the adjusted measurements with the dual F113s, with distortion figures.

Since you have some freedom for placement in curious what you're using for that. I've seen at least one or two room simulation tools around here lately.

The renderings are just what GIK and MCA came up with. I think MCA was using sketchup for their drawings.

Oh I mean, are you using any utilities to help with placing the subs? There are some where you put in the room dimensions and it simulates where the nulls will be.

Yes, I have played with a few of those simulator lately, if nothing else it helps me to visualize some concept that I though I understood.
Fascinating to have access to those for free, to play with.

Oh this one is interesting, what program is this?

Otherwise, @kemmler3D no, I want to keep the subs up front, and mostly just been feeding Claude stupid questions in opus5 high(burning work tokens) and seeing what it says. It likes to be super extra about it.

It wants me to move the crossover to 100-110, and move the subs basically back against the wall. Well just off given the hidden track, 21" front baffle to wall. Might as well try it. Its trying to separate out my 2 nulls that are created from the mains placement. I feel like the cross being so high is going to give me localization issues, but we will see.

*in be AI rage, but im mostly messing around

see I wish I could do this, but modeling out the stairs, and then the complexity of back left being open to the rest of the basement.... ugh

Even a simple crossover change yields interesting results. Red is new, green is the measurements from the other day

Crossover moved up to 105hz(give or take with dials). no localization issues noticed so far. Duals placed with the mains likely helps hide this, and high end subs.

*i refuse to sign into anything on this laptop, so boomer pics of computer screens forever.

and I keep going. I really think this is the best it is going to get without room-treatment and possibly DIRAC. But DIRAC is a big system change.

seating position changed, subwoofers moved, phase dials endlessly adjusted, subwoofer levels set, JL E.L.F trimmed.... ugh

yes the room is messy

With some of my room setups when the crossover to dual subs needs to go significantly above 80hz I found running symmetrically placed subs in stereo will prevent compromising soundstage and imaging.

Especially in symmetrical rooms (with optimally configured phase, timing and speaker and sub placement) stereo subs usually work out quite well - despite some increases setup complexity.

Complicated is an understatement. I think i spent 2hrs just messing with the subs until i accepted it. Tho im certainly no professional, it wasnt a 15min quickie

Giving an audio setup the time, attention to detail and technical expertise it needs to be optimized is why most of us are drawn to this site - and many of us actually enjoy this process! Subwoofer integration is certainly an extra challenge which is why many prefer to simply run full range speakers.
