I purchase a Schiit Skoll and have been enjoying it immensely for the past few days. I have ordered the Mogami cable, connectors and will be assembling a pair of balanced cables to utilize the input on the phono preamp. Most likely, be next weekend I will be able to make honest assessment if it was worth all the fuss.

No, there is no noise. One of the best investments in hi-fi gear I made in a long time. There is so much detail and the soundstage or presentation in the two newly purchased items really is that much better than what I was listening to before. Only a day or two away from trying out the balanced cables. I will let you know and ask my son his opinion also because he is the musician in the family.
Fascinating; first I've heard of this device! I wonder if there are other competing devices. I experimented with ADC from my phono stage to my CD Transport/Recorder that has balanced inputs. And while it's kinda cool to convert to digital, I found myself reverting back to pure analog connectivity; it simply sounds better, not to mention much simpler.
The MiniDSP Adept has the same basic functionality.

I prefer to use the word differential. MC cartridges are differential, but very many MMs shunt one channel minus to shield/ground which complicates things. I have not seen a phono amp with XLR that have it for MM.
