Hi there, just wondering if anyone here is using the DB1D subwoofer and if so what your thoughts are on it? I was thinking of buying 2 of them for my basement. The local dealer also carries JL AUDIO, PARADIGM and maybe REL. Also thinking of alternatively going with 2- JL F112 v2 or 3 or 4 of the JL E112 subs instead. Not much out there for DB1D subs but anything out there gives positive reviews. Thanks for any help.

As I understand it those brands are fine but don't give great value for dollar.

@sweetchaos has put in the work to create a fairly comprehensive subwoofer comparison chart. SVS tends to get recommended a lot as they have strong output for the $, but there are options for every budget. If you make a copy of the document you can sort, create filters, and so on. If nothing else you can compare the subs on your list directly and see if there are any objective reviews of them.

Ok thanks for the help. I know the DB1D is maybe overpriced but does seem to do ok. I have been digging and any review I have found seems to put it right up there with the JL’s anyway. I had 2 PSA XV15SE’s with the ice amp upgrades but our house burned down so they are gone. I wanted something more musical now so was looking at sealed boxes. Thanks again.

@LTig makes a good point, unless you need very high SPL below 30hz 4 or even 8 subs give you really good options to smooth out the in-room response. If you can get 8 smaller / cheaper subs you can create a double bass array or use trinnov waveforming, really on another level vs. just having 2 excellent subs in a normal setup.
