B &W advise needed

That’s interesting, I’m about to check specs on those ! I mentioned earlier that I just tested the new ps audio small speakers , guitar sounds amazing but everything else kinda just doesn’t quite sound as amazing, guitar is the main event with those. I get the impression from everyone’s comments that B&W speakers are on the bright side, I think the amps I have are on the neutral side and just might get a little kick out of these, I’m kinda excited because I had so much fun with my Klipsch, really got all out of them possible, and they were fun but I had to do tons of work and only about 60 % of my music sounded ok

When you find a speaker that makes your ears happy, that's the best start of the journey. Since your room will play the largest part of the sound you hear at home, make sure the return policy is fair..

I'm more likely to avoid PS just because of their general idiocy in audio, altho the speaker guy they hired seems fairly reasonable. Grandpa Paul is just otherwise a waste of time in audio IMHO. Not familiar with your Klipsch speakers, but generally have only been a fan of their older heritage stuff.

Yea , they were big with concert/industrial stuff , horn speakers are supposedly their forte, they even have speakers named forte , they started out with airplane sound equipment I think or ventured into that, overall they had great bass,.. bass and drums being the main event with the FR2.
Paul is cool, super knowledgeable overall, so far I’ve been pleased with their amps and dac, overall very neutral sounding products with awesome presentation when everything is right, you know recording, juice feeding the amps etc..

And even they're ass at that imo. but that is more coming from me burned from purchasing a Heresy IV. I will never forget how quickly I packed it up to return

If you are limited to $8K, get 802D2. These are still a very good speakers. I would not buy anything smaller than 802 model. Do not forget high current amplifier. I used Bryston with 802D when I had them. Somehow I like older 80x models with flat front, rather than their current design.
 
So... B&W back in the day (like, 30 years ago?) was reasonably linear with generally solid for the time engineering (roughly at the same level as, say, ATC). Sometime in the early 2000s their main engineer left and their design philosophy went to showroom sound and audiophile woo woo with first order tweeter crossovers which generally chewed up the directivity something fierce.

Anyway at up to $9,000/pr there are a great deal I'd recommend. Kef and Mofi are right up there as is Revel; if you're interested in actives Genelec and Neumann are worth a shout.
 
Anyone ever driven or sampled Canton , prices seem to be all over from top end at 65 grand to lower end at 700 dollars ., couldn’t sleep
 
I have been happy with my B&W 803S's for over 20 years. If ASR thinks they suck, it's all BS.
