Børresen speakers

Why isn't there more talk about them around here?
I like the T1 silver supreme
Unfortunately $55K is a little over my budget

Why not more discussion here on ASR? Because Børresen is typical HEA snake oil (even worse very expensive snake oil). Far above my pay grade, but out of sheer curiosity due to the hype I spent quite a bit of time auditioning at shows and I would echo the comments here on their sound. Overall not at all impressed. For that price they should be perfect. Not only are they not perfect, they have clear issues, so much so that you wonder if the only effort put into design is the cosmetics.

Yes
All of their speakers are 2-way or 2.5 way
Yes, at their low prices there is no money left for the $100-300 high value foil cap and coreless inductor needed for a 3-way with a low woofer crossover frequency. :p

That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever read written by an audio firm. It’s exactly the type of nonsense that puts would be customers into a psychological trap where they feel only such a “technology” can reveal the true musical insights they crave.

I’m sure that in other industries this type of false claim would contravene description of goods laws.

$55k for a stand mount 2way with a 5" woofer and 85db sensitivity?
You better really enjoy very polite type music, pure audiophool food.
They are purdy but no thanks.

You can always add a sub ;)

By the way there are a dozen pages of replies on the same brand on topics you had created:

New Børresen M6 flagship speakers

Børresen M1

Jeepers @Pearljam5000, are you on a mission to keep them at the forefront on ASR? Why pretend they are not getting discussed here, when you yourself have created many pages of discussion of them on ASR?

They also get a mention and some discussion on the "Worst Measuring Loudspeakers" thread. And not undeservedly.

It should be obvious to you why we aren't all excitedly referring to them, by now. Why the charade?

Honestly I forget what I post very often
I didn't even remember that M6 thread

They had one of the best sounding rooms at Axpona back in April. However, I didn’t realize the cables were so expensive but the sound was really good especially with the new subs they debuted.

Their business model could be questioned value wise but the sound quality was top notch. How anyone could say that room was poor sounding is beyond my comprehension. Of course I’d never buy any of their products but it’s because I only get high quality but high value gear. I’m unwilling to buy / unable to afford the ultra high end gear.

Just search the name/brand of the topic you want to start with the option "titles only".

Somebody mentioned my name. The Patented Borresen Almost Air Core Motor was independently invented by Steve Mowry without any outside funding or support in 2008-2009 from my office in Phuket, Thailand. https://pearl-hifi.com/06_Lit_Archi.../Mowry_Steve/Air_Core_Tweeter_Magnet_Assy.pdf
The invention was fully disclosed in Voice Coil magazine. My objective back in 2009 was to disclose the invention in hope of creating interest and encourage R&D of Air Core Magnetic Circuits for audio transducer application. I was unable to fund the development; although, I did subsequently assemble a few samples with Be domes for a client.

My claim is Borresen read the discussion in Voice Coil and claimed my invention for himself. Borresen claimed that this was the Prior Art in 2019.

When I posted information on this topic, some ASR members came to Michael Borresen's defense. Specifically, Snickers-is was outspoken and critical of my claims. Guy's this is not some subjective topic. Michael Borresen lacks professional ethics at best. Borresen should be censored by the loudspeaker community and not supported. Where you at Snickers-is?

Noone came to Børresen's defense.

But you claimed that their patent was the same as your invention. That is an incorrect claim.

You also attacked patent offices and patent employees in general, seeking everyone else's support on that.

The only real thing I could see was that you do not really understand how patents work and how to read them. That really has nothing to do with Børresen and I do not defend them, but what we discussed was not really about them either.

I am not going through this again her, you can take it in your original thread if you want to discuss ut further. If you want to get anywhere, why not send a complain to the patent office that handled their original application?

And when you call on someone, use the @Username function so they get a notification.
