I didn't spend much time in the expo area but was delighted to see these vintage Reel to Reel tape decks:

Didn't know RBH made this kind of granite (?) speakers:

And what the heck is this contraption?

I guess it washes your LPs with some magic juju?

Beautiful tape machines!

But not practical and I have no desire to own one. I wouldn't be particularly "delighted" to see them. :P

They would make nice display pieces or conversation pieces if I had space for that kind of thing.

An LP cannot be properly cleaned without having gone through a machine that costs more than the turntable. And I'm not talking about a cheapie turntable :)

Is the R2R in the second post a Revox?

I notice no Teacs--maybe my two aren't going to contribute to my retirement program as much as one might hope.

This one?

Everything about it screams TASCAM. :)
It is snazzier than my TASCAM 22-4, though.

EDIT: I think it's a TASCAM BR-20T (or somewhere in that family).

Surprised to see no Ampex/ATR, Studer, Sony/MCI -- you know: big boy tape decks. ;)

So I learned yesterday that RBH started out as a cabinet maker for speakers. Then they got bought out and started making speakers but stopped making the cabinets. The world is crazy.

ReVox B77 on the right of the first photo (or perhaps its Studer "pro" cousin, PR99), inexplicably sporting "TEAC" reels. Couple of Pioneer RT-707 decks on the left, and some AKAI deck in the middle. I am less savvy of the better and later AKAI consumer decks, unfortunately. A GX-something or another, I reckon. ;)

I had noticed the B77 in the first photo and the Pioneer 707's are cult fetish objects.

I had never known a blond Tascam, but I agree, it's at least related to the BR-20T.
