AXPONA 2026: Estelon & Vitus $1.5M Audio System

In his LinkedIn profile I see marketing and sales related education and certificates which also rather matches the posts here.
There are countless number of people that come to ASR over the years making big claims on their credentials to only spew out pseudoscience (oftentimes pseudoscience that was used on them) to only be called out then met with real science. Reality and real science becomes too much for them to bear, and they storm out the door claiming ASR is full of arrogance and know it all.

If you can't cite real science to argue your point then it's either an opinion or pseudoscience.

Based on my observations in many audio shops (or even while walking around Axpona), the tragedy isn't a wealthy person spending money they don't need, but regular hobbyists who are led astray by the misinformation and marketing. They will often spend limited funds on equipment and cable swaps chasing the ever elusive synergy.

Similarly, the reason for so many ultra-expensive 2 ways seems to be because everyone knows subwoofers have slow bass. The lack of knowledge and willingness to treat room modes and enjoy readily available bass response is traded for limited low frequency response and often higher cost because DSP is bad.

Very easy:
Rich people are just thinking: Price is not an issue for me, I know there is much discussions/controversies about effect of cables, but in the doubt, I buy it, I can always resell it, and maybe it has an effect...As money is not an issue for me, let's try it, and at least I can impress my friends/family, and I have the satisfaction to belong to the very few able to ear it in their system

know, the Crystal Cable Infinite Dream cables are unlike anything else currently available anywhere. Using infinite Crystal Silver, which is not only hyper pure but has the lowest number of crystal bonds per meter than any other metal that conducts electricity with high efficiency.
I took another look here, but after reading this post, I think I know how the next few pages after this post will go.

Writing at length on ASR about cable sound and the benefits of the crystal structure alignment in this cable is like someone sitting down in a strictly vegan restaurant with a 4-kilogram tomahawk steak, or like a leaf blower in a Zen garden.

None of it is a very good idea—unless you want to perfect the art of defending your point of view.

Now that I've read everything: Just as I expected.

That said, it went by pretty quickly, and I had expected it to last longer >
I am far too busy running several successful businesses to deal with so much negativity, unnecessary criticisms and questions, and false accusations. You know who you are. I just don’t need anymore ignorance or hate in life. The world is a mess as it is. I work in the audio industry because I genuinely love it and grew up in the business. I’ve been designing and building speakers, amps, and acoustic products since I was a kid. I’m in this for enjoyment, not the blind negativity and hate. Goodbye!

All the best to you!

I wish the same for you

Although the two examples you mention are more a matter of personal prefences/priorities while writing about cable sound is and should be named what it is, namely BS. A better equivalent would be stating that eating a local salad has a larger energy footprint than eating an imported a beef steak.

I'm subscribed to US Audio Mart just for kicks and get a weekly email including a list of the latest hot
used gear on sale. It totally amazes me the amount of money folks will spend and then lose on resale with much of this gear. Maybe only because I don't have deep enough pockets to play on their team ?

Well that didn't last long.
But admittedly we at ASR can be harsh at times

I would say instead, we just don't have patience for con-artists, hucksters, pseudoscience, voodoo and black magic.

Many members here know the science well enough that they are immune and impervious to BS.

Yeah, maybe, but "leaf blower in a Zen garden" is a really, really effective mental image. Would make a great title for a garage band album.

I have a very low threshold for crap when someone looks at me across a keyboard and thinks he can BS me.

Just saying, but there's a brand that went a notch further, it gets it's crystal bounds perfectly aligned by forging them on the equator, therefore canceling the disturbance of the magnetic field, you're lagging way behind.

They also went great lenghts to simply eliminate any resistance with their zéro kelvin cables. It gives exceptional transients clarity, like never heard before, trust me.

Sorry but I'd rather put my money on this.
I'm convinced it's a satirical site, and it's actually a pretty funny:

"All products aligned to magnetic north at time of manufacture. Alignment may vary.
Results in non-equatorial environments may vary"

And check out the set of 4 contact enhancers for left and right channel: someone was having fun.

...if he had only left cables out of the discussion...
Yes, it was all pretty interesting and solid for the most part, but with a bit of a fly in the ointment. It's too bad that it got to be a focus and contentious. Maybe I should have let it slide... but I guess you can't sell people thousands of dollars worth of cables and let statements about their absolute non-efficacy slide either.

I think you're right, I tried to find "Dr. Helena Voss, audio researcher" on google, and zilch. I think she's fiction like the rest of it.

Yes, Equatorial Audio is satirical - and well done with a lot of effort put into it. I'd like to know who is involved in all that effort.

Brother, I know that ;) , it's a site that was created for April 1st and was introduced to us in another thread. It's hilarious, also look at the customer's comments, zero kelvin cables and argon turntables!
I was just being a bit naughty to give the man a taste of his own medicine.
