Well thanks for the correction, wonder what's up with that. Probably Covid related, no PS Audio either. FYI, I do have an appointment to hear the new LRS+ on Friday so that should be interesting.

My main plan was to check out in wall/on wall speakers but I recently bought a pair of used Revel Gem2 to wall mount but do not yet have them installed or have the GaN Fet amplifier assembled to audition them in my Chicago condo. If I fall in love with something at the show I can always sell the Gem2 pair. Hoping to meet other friendly ASR types locally too!

Just from personal experience, have not been to many audio shows. This is my second. The last one I went to had less than 60 exhibitors and it took me two full days to check out each room for about 10 or so mins per room.

I know most people don’t do that, but I am trying to get a feel for all the rooms and offerings. Doubt I will be able to get it all done. As the last show was running the same hours.

Therefore I will pass up on the meet and greet. Hopefully some of you will get together and have a great time

If you sell the Gem2, let me know. I may or may not be at Axpona on Saturday (due to minor health issues).
 
Well there is about an hour left of the opening day at Axpona ‘22, any reports from the “audio scientists” attending?
 
The DCA Stealths really are that good.

An Avantgarde Trio G3 and it's bass bins probably won't even fit in Amir's garage, let alone on the Klippel.

It would be really nice to have more research on omnis since they always seem impressive to me under show conditions.
 
@Midwest Blade it was nice, started raining super hard. Was really packed, expecting it to be even more busy tomorrow.

It’s not as many listening rooms as expected, there are a lot of retailers selling gear though at discounted prices.

Will wrap it up tomorrow and revisit the fire rooms Sunday.

They got the debut of this new gryphon amp, that is a monster. 430 lbs dual mono class A 210 watts into 8 ohms, swear it’s the size of a coffin ⚰️
 
I'll be around there today so if you see the guy with the red Walker stop by and say hi if you're an ASR guy.
 
Anyone going to the show, check out the focal atmos demo room. They've got Rocket Man playing from Tidal in Atmos in there it's pretty impressive at least if you stick around until the "oohs"

I didn’t care for it. Listened to Tom Sawyer and lasted about 30 seconds. It seemed all blurry to me.

Hi Troy, do you (or anyone else) have anything to report on the LRS+ and also on the prototype subwoofer?
 
I went on Saturday. It was good! Picked up some vinyl. Came home, listened to some music. I think I need $20k to make some improvements.
 
Again the borrensen01 speakers left me speechless. I don't know how to justify the prices they charge, but measurements be damned they sound amazing.
 
Even though I wasn't able to attend the show, thanks to all who posted about their experiences there. For anyone interested, there is a long thread over at Steve Hoffman forum that has a lot of pictures of the rooms and setups.
