I am intrigued to see if there is a market for the Arcam, it seems like quite a clever piece of kit, but is it a niche product in an already niche market? At £2,500 it's not exactly "cheap".
Since audio is usually stiflingly tradition bound, this is a different product with feet in the traditional stereo integrated amp market as well as newer technologies like DSP, etc. which are well proven. Arcam are not the first, nor is this "expanded" product category a guaranteed success.
But, Arcam is a high quality manufacturer that does not compromise on its views on sonics. It might be a niche, but does the market need yet another plain old integrated stereo amp with just analog in/out just like all the others that have come and gone for decades?
Maybe it is time for a broader view. Maybe it is time for more stereo listeners to benefit from DSP room correction, as many Mch HT listeners have been doing for quite awhile now.
