Hi ASR community folks,
I recently stepped into the daunting and often tiring world of AVR, Amps, Home Theatre recently. Attached my setup for easier understanding.
I have numerous queries and need help to fix issues that I am facing with setup listed below.
My set up is as follows :
1. AVR - Denon x4800h
2. Speakers - Centre - JBL - A135C x 1, Tall boys - JBL -A180 x 2, Surrounds - JBL - A130 x 6, Woofers - JBL - A120P x 2.
3. Amps - Fosi TB10D x 3 for Surrounds. Fosi v3 Mono x 1 for Centre, Fosi TP-02 x 2 for woofers.
Problems -
Story # 1 - Without Amps
Story # 2 - With Amps
I seek help :
1. What can I do to make the Center channel gain clarity along with Fosi v3 Mono ?
2. How can I make the surrounds sound better with amps ? The Bass, Treble and Gain in TB10D's are set to 100%.
3. When I ran Audyssey again with Amps on, it changed surround, tall boys to Full Range. (I did not dare touch it).
4. What can I do to push the subwoofers to their maximum potential ? Doesn't feel like I am using 500w woofers at all !! Feeling ashamed when visitors are less impressed.
Thanks for your patience and your help in advance.

Problems -
Story # 1 - Without Amps
- Installed all the speakers (surrounds at 8 ft from floor) and set the subwoofers in front and back positions.
- Installed the banana plugs for all terminals.
- Ran Audyssey for all 8 tests.
- Subwoofers (500W) are not at all performing as they should. Very meek performance.
- Updated the Crossovers to 80 for Centre, 100 for tall boys, 100 for surrounds.
- Updated the subwoofers to LFE only with Crossover at 100.
- Speakers were not set a small since that option is now not available in the latest x4800h patch.
- Volume and Crossover dials at the back of the woofers were set to 75% position as recommended by Audyssey.
- Ran Dolby Amaze clip from Dolby YouTube channel, but woofers are not thumping.
- Surrounds didn't even bother to play any note.
- Frustrated with dialogues unless a lady actor with shrieking voice was speaking which sounded better than the rest.
Story # 2 - With Amps
- After scourging many forums and finalized Fosi's.
- Added Fosi's and could immediately notice that they started to play the notes that I missed.
- Dolby Amaze clip was played again. Rain drop splashing sounds now clearly heard.
- Front subwoofer has awoken. Though not upto mark. (not subjective since it is really performing abysmal).
- Sudden jump in voice clarity in Centre. But still needs improvement.
