Yes, Pure Direct works with HDMI. I occasionally use it if I’m using an eq in my Mac when listening to music from it.

Thanks Tre, I'll try it tonight. It *should* act the same as turning bass management off (speakers all set to Large) with the difference of having YPAO out of the picture.

Yes, it behaves as it should with one exception. If I have multichannel output for HDMI set in my Mac's Audio MIDI Setup, bass will still be output to the subwoofer even when selecting Pure Direct mode in the receiver playing 2ch signals. I must make sure to select 2ch output in the Mac for Pure Direct to work properly.
