So what's the best thing to put under a sub to reduce/stop vibrations getting to other places of the house?

Subdude should work fine for this. Remember that my main testing was performance improvement at listening position, not propagation of sound to other rooms. As long as you subwoofer is pretty decently decoupled mechanical vibration through the walls should be significantly reduced.

Depends on a few things, easy enough to find stuff around the house that can do the job (a bit of textile padding can do well), altho aesthetics can suffer. I've found rubber cabinet feet (sourced from parts-express.com) on my diy subs work fine in my house.
