Audiophile jewelry - most beautiful Cd players, turntables and other gear

I just ordered this, to use as a transport:

New Shanling EC3. Sure, it is by no means Audio Jewelry. But it is decently cheap for a top-loading CDP!

The Mitsubishi DA-F20
Still my idea of one of the koolest FM tuners ever.
It was one of the first affordable tuners with a digital readout.
Also highly regarded as an excellent performer by the Classic Tuners crowd.
This picture is one I took for my EBay sales ad.
Another one of those I'd have loved to keep if I had the room for it.

That is a nice looking unit, Sal!

Admittedly I'm not personally a fan of the pro-handles on consumer gear. I like a cleaner look. But otherwise, very nice!

My dad’s first ‘serious’ stereo set, Denon D-250. Fond memories of its look and feel.

I like this design on looks. Most amps today look or very bland or very "look how much money i can spend" but this looks just beautifull desgined. It will off couse cost money to do, but if i want to spend money on design, this is what i wouldn't mind paying for. If more amp builders would do things like this (whatever system is in the box) it woul be great. It surely is better than all the ugly bling bling amps sold in the audiophool side of the market.

Off course, when it needs to be cheap, this won't be possible, then the standard black plastic box is valid, even if it's ugly.

I've got to tip my hat to the turntable that started a lot of the modern designs,
The beautiful Oracle Delphi.
Oh how I lusted for one back in the day, with a air bearing straight line arm. :p:p

Interestingly, I owned that combination. ET2 with the Oracle Delphi I. Bad mix. Air-bearing tonearms, to perform their best, need a base that is perfectly level at all times. Because of their spring suspension, turntables such as the Oracle would slightly shift the level from one side to another (from the tonearm perspective) as the arm traveled across the LP. That is why air-bearing turntables with air-bearing arms did not rely on squishy suspensions. In fact, the Ariadne signature, which I still have (ugly, especially when compared to an Oracle), has no spring suspension, the platter and the arm rely solely on air suspension, so the turntable is always level.

Sansui Au-X11 with beautifull wood side panels

Lol... I was googling your AU-X11 and was looking at it thinking wowowowow. This looks fine and very well assembled. That's when I realized I was looking at the bottom view....lol. Now that's I've seen the top it all make sense. Nice unit!

what is your opinion on the shanling EC3 as a transport ? Did you take any measurements ?
It's a CD transport, what would you even measure? Noise?:D

I have always loved the look of the Pioneer silver era receivers:
