Anyone heard any updates/rumors if this will come to fruition?

Well, they were announced. Have not heard if release is delayed. Interesting set of features, but only 16 discrete channels is a limitation in the higher end range where this one falls. That gives you effectively 7.4.4, which is not bad, but some people might want more.

16 channels is plenty for me! Hope this comes to fruition, though I have a suspicion it will be out of my price range. I also am considering Marantz AV20, Anthem AVM70, and new Emotiva

Let’s hope they just put in new tech in there, class-d, hdmi 2.workinglatest , dts x pro, etc. Crossing my fingers for the avr.

I had two Audiocontrol pre-pro units a few years ago and both had horrible firmware bugs. They would constantly bootloop and lost their configs. Never again. I'd steer clear unless you have direct experience with them.

They had been sharing a hardware and software platform with Arcam/Harman for many years. The new units are developed by themselves as part of the AVPro Global group, who make extremely reliable HDMI & Dante platforms.

New product information pages. Includes new Dante equipped matching power amps and Dante encoders, including an 8 channel dts and Dolby Atmos capable unit.

What about DV 2.0 pass-through support?

They’re under new ownership and these products are built ground up by a completely new team.

I hope they release more info about the feature set, UI, and pricing soon.

The digital only one (assuming removing the analog outs and shrinking the chassis makes it cheaper) is especially intriguing, though if the analog + digital one is about the same price the digital only one will likely not last long on the market. But for me Dante out + BSS BLU-DAN (already on hand) and BLU-link amp inputs would be ideal.

New PDF of the full product lineup launched today:

Axis-10 also interesting. They’re demoing everything this weekend at Cedia. Should be coverage on YouTube next week. And hopefully pricing will be released as well.

I spoke to AudioControl about the AXIS 10 at Ei Live in the UK this week.
Essentially get yourself a Bijou 5100D, remove the GaN power amp modules and required big PSU, remove all the analogue connections, route the auto output via Dante (7.1/5.1.2 and 2.0 down mix) and put it into the smallest box possible. It's a cool bit of kit.

I spoke to our UK AudioControl contact again yesterday to get updates on the Hyperion products. They're very much making sure everything is working correctly before releasing the APR-16 to distributors (me, UK) and dealers. The roadmap for further features beyond that which they will have at launch is super exciting and will be present in the DPR-16 and RCV-11 when they launch Q1 2026, and then more to follow too.
Beyond the revamped Hyperion cinema power amps there will almost certainly be some more products based on the compact GaN power amp modules to follow soon too, almost certainly all with Dante capabilities.
The RCV-11 will be a little more in price than the APR-16 to account for all 11 amp modules in it.

Hello I exchanged some chat too with AvPro tech , I believe this AudioControl purchase potentially make the best Dante interconnection reliability of every surround product on market with Dante at this days . in one chat I had with JBL tech they told me that "There are specific situations where the signal paths differ between the Dante and analog connections, which could lead to some speakers reaching maximum volume and potentially damaging either speaker or processor " this is regarding their SDR and SDP units and they recommend if possible to do one way analog or the other ethernet ... but are all We in a transition of adopting this new connection ?very different products .. Dante Amps , Dante Speakers , AES67 or Ravenna Specs ... For the Hyperion DPR-16 I dont understand how we use it ... it works trough RS232 or Hdmi ArC, so it cost 4000 euros and have no volume control inside ? how do we make out to use it ? APR16 and RCV11 seems great products ... Missing USB B for Asynchronous clocking in 2 channels and some XLR preouts for Subwoofers and or active front channels or external amp on RCV11 in my opinion

The DPR-16 is the same digital hardware as the APR-16 has inside. 4 x HDMI input, 1 x HDMI eARC, + coaxial, optical & Dante inputs. Full processing, pre amp, DSP, EQ, everything is there.
Ref no XLR on the RCV-11, some design sacrifices have to be made to fit all the connections on and bits in the box for a price. So if you need XLR then the the APR-16 and separate amps is the choice.
I suspect there's no USB input as they're aimed at the custom Theatre/cinema market where the demand for this is very low compared to all the other features on it.
