Audio technica r70x clicking when bass

I have this weird issue on my r70x on loud volume I hear like a click when a bass drum hits. The thing is if I tilt my head sideways its not there even at the same volume. What could this be?

something in the cup, or headband, or clipping

I had weird clicking and stuff with my old AD700s and it was a hair on the speaker, had to remove the ear pads which was a bit of a pain but it’s the first thing that springs to mind when people have weird sounds on headphones.
