Thanks. I wonder how they compare to the B version which had a quite different sound signature.
Here are both on the same graph:

The MSR7b has more bass and smoother upper mids.
The higher bass could be caused by better coupling to the measurement rig and may not be inherent to the headphone.

What happened to the headband ?
Was the pleather flaking off and peeled the owner the rest off (leaving the cloth under the pleather bare ?)

The headband is supposed to look like this:
When you look closely you can see the pleather already starting to flake.

Had the same problem with the original version on both earpads and headband. The coating started to fade out after a few years. No longer a problem with the b version.
