I'm surprised we don't have a thread on this headphone yet, considering the massive amounts of hype it's been generating.

Some basic measurements

Here's a couple reviews

GadgetryTech

WaveTheory

Both more or less saying that it's the best headphone ever made. Anyone else on ASR interested in these headphones?

Underwhelming measurements for sure. I don't see how it's the best headphone ever. I do know to disregard anything said by WaveTheory however.
Sennheiser HD560S seems to beat this no problem.

YT video reviews are all basically an extension of the sales talk. Thus overly positive and the 'negatives' they sometimes state are not really negatives at all.
These folks always have overly positive reviews because when they don't they don't receive 'free of charge' headphones anymore and they don't get to review as much gear as they want.
Keep in mind that the reviewer received free headphones with a total value close to $ 7k he (most likely) gets to keep.... that may be enough incentive to hype that stuff.
The AD7000X = $ 3.5k so it better should sound a lot better than the relatively cheap R70xa anyway.

So disregard 'hyped' reviews and audition them for yourself.

You might believe them or not, but they both stated early in their reviews that they have to send this headphone back to Audio-Technica.

(Of course this does not necessarily mean that they are "right".)

That could just be a loophole of like, return it within 3 years or something. If they can lie without technically lying, they will push that to the very limit.
