Almost ;) Don't go to Wikipedia to classify certain opinions as nonsense, Wikipedia has a neutral point of view (at most, you can say that a certain reputable source considers something nonsense). See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view. But it certainly would be valuable to go to for example https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Loudspeaker_placement&action=edit&redlink=1 or https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Early_reflections&action=edit&redlink=1 and to fill the void using the literature by Toole and others.

Excellent idea; Dr. Floyd Toole can certainly help/contribute to ASR/Wikipedia notable "communion"... a solid foundation, a very noble cause to the worldwide audio community.

It's the first time I've contributed to Wiki. I can do English and Russian if anything.

Edit: Whoops. Thought you had quoted me.

No problemo...Russian language is also a good asset.
But yes I was interested in the language Josq write for Wikipedia.

Just updated.

I had to remove the panther ratings section:( We could reinstate it if we also included discussion of other rankings for electronics and the preference score. Seems too deep at least at the moment.

The "pink panther" can certainly return to be part of ASR/Wikipedia.
It's a fun element and within the rules of notability.
Actually it's one of the most imaginative and creative aspects of ASR from our noble and venerable host and audio technical writer, Amir Majidimehr.

Furthermore, Amir's credentials included in his signature are also very notable:
• Microsoft background
• Madrigal - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrigal_Audio_Laboratories
• Harman Kardon
• Mark Levinson - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Levinson_Audio_Systems
• Widescreen Review audio/video technical writer/contributor
• And more ...

2 problems with that: 1) Amirs awards don't automatically make ASR more notable, ASR was not rewarded right? 2) On Wikipedia, notability has a slightly different meaning. You become notable by being described in reputable sources, not by some "vague awareness".

A well-sourced article about Amir might stand a chance.

Josq, I will encourage you to get more familiar with ASR and Amir to truly appreciate the notable and fun benefits of the Pink Panther. It's the soul of ASR, the mascot, part of the essence of technical audio merits rating. Nowhere else on the entire Internet you can find a better method of scoring audio components, nowhere...only here. Pink Panther would approve.

This is no joke, this is highly notable. Amir has a super wide vision ... full of beneficial wisdom. To know is to understand the man behind the veil.

The Pink Panther is one of the most formidable audio rating systems ever created.

Cheers,
Bob

Oh, I was trying to do the opposite: that is, give a voice and reason for what subjectivists believe in. Right now we just say in passing they are wrong and move on. If there is a page for that, then we can link to it as evidence of their position.

A link to it; yes, fair and reasonable idea Amir...notable.

I apparently have to register to upload the logo, so haven't done that yet.

They say they have millions such users so assumes that the coverage would be a valid sample of the Internet: https://support.alexa.com/hc/en-us/articles/200449744-How-are-Alexa-s-traffic-rankings-determined-

One would wonder how many of them are into audio though.

Technical video science, documentaries, music reviews, films, latest news we can use...technology, audio/video advancements, global health, ...
Those are few other topics of interest to audiophiles.
Every audio website include their own other subject of interests...it's the normality.

But I am certain that the main interest here @ ASR is the science of understanding and reading the technical audio scientific measurements and apply them into real life music listening.
